VORTEX VR is looking for an enthusiastic VR TEAM MEMBER/ to join our team.
​
Responsibilities include:

Enthusiastically welcoming guests into the arcade/ escape room

Assisting customers in and out of VR equipment

Helping customers with gameplay and giving continued instruction throughout their sessions

Using VR software to monitor sessions and anticipate customer needs before they ask for help

Loading groups into multiplayer games

Sanitizing equipment after each player

General cleaning around the arcade including vacuuming, dusting, bathroom duties, etc.

Qualifications:

Computer and tech savvy

Excited about VR technology

Previous experience in customer service is a plus (preferably, location-based entertainment such as trampoline houses, mini-golf courses or other entertainment facilities)

Must be excessively friendly and communicate effectively with customers, including children and adults

Must be comfortable taking feedback from management and using it to provide a better customer experience in the future

Availability on during holidays (Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas Break) and Weekends is a must (20-30 hours/week) and willingness to learn new things is a big plus.

Must be available to works on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and holidays.

Pay: $12 - $15/ hour Depending on Experience

General Job Description:

The Manager/Assistant Manager will be a highly-motivated and hard-working individual, who will help develop and
meet the profit plan for Vortex VR, and drive sales to grow the business. The Assistant Manager will
successfully manage and execute positive customer interactions, and foster a passion for virtual reality in
guests. They will help hire, train, retain and motivate other team members.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Training:

● Foster an environment of teamwork, collaboration, and trust with guests, employees and vendors.
● Cultivate a strategic team environment that provides exceptional customer service with all team
members performing at a consistently high level.
● Help manage team member recruiting, training, staffing and coaching where service, selling and
safety are top priorities.
● Help manage and prioritize staff scheduling for the VR center and special events to appropriately
meet business needs and maximize guest experience.
● Lead and motivate staff, while utilizing their individual strengths to ensure maximum customer
satisfaction and productivity.
● Promote positive employee relations including fostering great staff morale and leading by
example.
● Effectively delegate duties and ensure operating procedures are consistently followed.
● Ensure ex*****on of all employee recognition and incentive programs as documented and
outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Operations:
● Help manage and execute day-to-day operations at the VR center. This includes opening and
closing procedures, making sales, ensuring positive guest experiences through exceptional
customer service, maintaining cleanliness, and troubleshooting technical, as well as customer
service issues.
● Actively assist other team members with customer relations, as needed, to creatively solve or
de-escalate problems.
● Deliver an unrivaled experience to consistently meet or exceed guest expectations.
● Continuously improve operating procedures by suggesting changes that increase efficiency,
streamline productivity or improve guest experience.
● Help manage, as well as perform all duties of a VR Team Member..
● Process financial transactions and liability waivers for guests making in-person reservations.
● Become an expert with virtual reality experiences offered and teach guests how to safely use the
equipment.
● Actively work to drive sales through positive guest interactions and utilizing suggestive selling
techniques.
● Assist with parties, events, field trips and camps.
● Serve as first-line tech support for VR and computer equipment.
● Work periodic off-site events at conventions and expos, if required.
● Help maintain a safe, clean and friendly environment at all times.
● Ensure Vortex VR rules and policies are always being followed.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:
● High School diploma or GED required.
● College level degree or experience preferred but not necessary.

Experience and Technical Skills:

● Manager or Assistant Manager in retail, entertainment, food service or similar.
● 2+ years in customer relations/service work.
● Cash handling experience required.
● Knowledge of PC and Windows 10.
● Intermediate knowledge of Google Drive and Google applications.
● Basic knowledge of social media marketing, including, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram,
Google AdWords, Mailchimp, Youtube, etc. preferred.
● Experience with VR systems and Steam VR preferred.
● Experience with graphic design a plus.
Personal Traits and Skills:
● Strong leadership and teaching skills.
● Excellent communication and problem solving abilities.
● Energetic, polite and positive demeanor with both adults and children.
● Great time management skills, attention to detail, organization and consistency.
● Self motivated team member with enthusiasm for the business.
● Must be adaptable and flexible, with the ability to keep cool under pressure.
● Self accountable for high personal standard of conduct and professionalism.
● Can create and communicate a vision for the VR center.

Position Type: Hourly; Part Time-Full Time.

Compensation: $18-$22 per hour DOE.
