We finally got a freeze so the tubers are getting lifted, washed, divided and stored.

The thing about gardening in a temperate rain forest is there is always something to do.

Today I pulled a few dahlias that blew over in the storm and then planted the Chesnock Red 🧄 garlic. I also collected the beans to hopefully dry inside and planted Shallots for next year.

Then harvested green romaine lettuce, forono beets and a giant purple cauliflower. I even ate a few cherry tomatoes in the greenhouse.

Working on shipping options. Right now we have gifts, seeds and calendars ready to go. I’ve heard people don’t like flat shipping and want more options. If you were shopping, buying seeds or other products, would you find this menu of options easy to understand?

Crazy ideas- I need feedback from you.

1) I decided to make calendars for 2025. If you are US based and would be interested in a calendar, would you like this post? Cost would be somewhere between 15 and 20 dollars based on number I order.

2) would you be interested in purchasing a gift certificate that would come with first access to my tubers? Please comment below if you’d like this idea and how much you would want to have in the gift certificate to spend in the spring?

I’m working up a Small Business weekend sale (round Black Friday) for seeds. Lots of sorting and packing and literally every seed is being touched, assessed for embryos and then packaged. We have new packaging for seeds this year and while the envelopes are larger, I’m loving the feels.

Picking seeds. What does that look like? On a small scale it’s me, a bowl in the living room light trying to get tiny seed pods away from tinier seeds of the Snapdragon. I used to think seed was expensive to buy. I now feel the price is worth every penny.
