💥 Just dropped: another episode of the CEO Insider Podcast! 🎤

Listen to this great discussion with CEO of YTexas Ed Curtis & CEO at Ryan Sanders Baseball, Inc. Reid Ryan as they talk about business, baseball, Texas, and what it was like creating the movie Facing Nolan, a movie about Nolan Ryan, Reid's father.

💙 But the heart of this Texas Story is in the generational impact of a success minded family. Here is a segment from the episode:

Ed Curtis: "We're talking about the movie, and I want to talk about you of course. And I want to talk about the family and the business because I think the Texas Story for you and for the family is your success in business."

Reid Ryan: "My dad was raised the youngest of 6 kids, depression era parents as you saw in the film. And his parent's goal was for all of their kids to get educations. All of my aunts and uncles have multiple college degrees . Several have been college professors and high school teachers. Very successful. My dad took very much the same approach that I have been given a gift with this right arm, a God-given gift, and it's up to me to maximize that to it's fullest. And anything less than that truly i think would be disrespectful to his parents and the sacrifices they made to be able to give their an opportunity to go on and do things that were better than them. So my brother, sister and I, have really felt the same way. To whom much is given, much is expected."

You won't want to miss a second of this incredible Texas story.

A big Texas sized thank you to the Make It Movement for being a part of our YTexas Summit!

The Make It Movement held a live broadcast to students across the Lone Star State to encourage them to "make it in Texas". What an amazing way to inspire Texas students to pursue careers and build the future workforce of Texas.

THIS is what we are talking about when we say build a stronger an more connected Texas! A crucial part is bridging industry and education so students can step into the careers that will benefit them and the Texas economy.

The Make It Movement broadcast, held right on the 50 Yard Line of the Dallas Cowboys field at AT&T Stadium, included student's stories, business leaders inspiration, and career path information. These leaders speaking into students included Roy Spence, Ed Curtis, Dennis Quaid, Aaron Demerson, Scott Murray and many more!

Thanks to everyone to participated, and thank you Make It Movement for building a stronger, more connected Texas through your effort with students across the state!

Congratulations to the Texas Rangers Baseball Club on advancing to the World Series!!

We were delighted to host Brad Ballard of the Texas Rangers at our YTexas Summit, where we learned about the substantial and far-reaching influence the Rangers wield on both the Texas community and its economy.

The significance of this team cannot be overstated, and it's worth noting that their contributions extend beyond the baseball field. The Rangers support hundreds of jobs for the community, contributes significantly to the state's tourism industry by bringing business to the area, and are a highly developed and well run business.

This not only enhances Texas' reputation as a sports destination but also bolsters the local and state economy.

We can honestly say that the value of this team is innumerable, and we are thrilled to cheer for them as they compete at the World Series!

Let's go Texas!!

Did you know about the incredible opportunities the Texas Workforce Commission and Interns Unite provides for company's intern program?

They provide funds for up to half an intern salary. We are excited to promote this program and others at the Oct 6th, YTexas Summit with the Texas Workforce Commission and the Texas Workforce Solution Boards as integral parts of the Summit.

They, along with the 500 students participating, will interact with the businesses at this event to bridge the gap between education and industry.

We are so grateful for student involvement in the YTexas Summit and in our YTexas Leadership Academy (students pictured below - they are amazing!). These students make a difference in our solutions for the future workforce, and it is vital that we all do our part to engage with them - like TWC and Texas Workforce Solutions Board are doing!

This is one of our hopes for the YTexas Summit. Each Summit ticket supports attendance for one student, so secure your ticket while you can!

A BIG Texas thank you to the Presidents of our great nation!

Texas has been home to several U.S. Presidents. Some notable Presidents with ties to Texas include:

1. Dwight D. Eisenhower: Eisenhower served as the 34th president, and he was born in Texas though he spent much of his life in Kansas.

2. Lyndon B. Johnson: LBJ was born in Stonewall, Texas, and served as the 36th President of the United States from 1963 to 1969. He is well-known for his efforts in passing significant civil rights legislation and launching the War on Poverty.

3. George H.W. Bush: Bush was born in Milton, Massachusetts, but he moved to Texas and made it his home. He served as the 41st President of the United States from 1989 to 1993.

4. George W. Bush: George W. Bush, son of George H.W. Bush, was born in New Haven, Connecticut, but he was raised in Texas. He served as the 43rd President of the United States from 2001 to 2009.

On this day we also want to recognize President Carter who recently was moved into hospice care. President Carter, we thank you for all that you have done for our country! May your legacy touch all of us and the generations to come!

Happy Presidents’ Day, everyone!

Huge news for the city of Waco!

This Texas city will be receiving over 230 new jobs and a billion dollar investment as Graphic Packaging (GPK) decides to build in Waco.

"Our plans to build a new CRB mill in Waco, Texas and optimize our paperboard network over the next three years will extend our position as the lowest-cost, highest-quality paperboard producer in North America and enhance our ability to meet growing global demand for fiber-based consumer packaging," said GPK President and CEO Michael Doss in a recent news release tied to the company's full-year earnings.

As Waco is located along the I-35 corridor, it will provide access and connection with all major Texas cities.

Congratulations, Waco! This is building a stronger, more connected Texas!

The Quality of Living? Why does that matter?

We know that businesses are often most interested in the available workforce, the opportunity for growth, office spaces and land, and financial incentives when it comes to relocation.

But we want to remind you of another important aspect: the quality of living for your employees and for you matters!

Don’t bypass this.

Because we know that your employees are more than just people who work for your company; they have family; they have hobbies; they have stories. In deciding to relocate, it is pivotal to look at the whole wellbeing of your employees, not just the business wellbeing.

We can assure you, that Texas has a high quality of living that will benefit your employees and their families.

Your quality of living, in the end, really depends on how you want to live.

And the living is good in Texas.
