No foolin': Celebrate National Poetry Month with Bigger Boat April 1 at 6:30 pm for a reading by poet Paul Guest! He's is the author of four collections of poetry, most recently Because Everything Is Terrible, and a memoir, One More Theory About Happiness. His writing has appeared in Poetry, The Paris Review, Tin House, Slate, New England Review, The Southern Review, The Kenyon Review, Ploughshares, and numerous other publications. We're back with our second reading of the spring semester. We welcome Susannah Felts this Thursday at 6:30 pm. Susannah is a fiction writer, teacher, editor, and co-founder/co-director of The Porch, a nonprofit literary arts organization based in Nashville, Tennessee. She has been awarded the Tennessee Arts Commission’s Individual Artist Fellowship in Fiction and the Tennessee Williams Scholarship to the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, as well as residencies at the Ragdale Foundation, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences. Susannah is a contributing writer for Chapter 16, Humanities Tennessee’s site devoted to literary culture, and a columnist for BookPage. Her essays and fiction have appeared in publications such as The Best American Science and Nature Writing 2018, Guernica, Catapult, Literary Hub, Vol. 1 Brooklyn, Longreads, StorySouth, The Oxford American, and others, and her first novel, This Will Go Down on Your Permanent Record, was published by Featherproof Books. She is currently seeking representation for a second novel.

Ron's book "Avery C**t Is A Snake, A Thief, A Liar," out now on Southeast Missouri State University Press, won the Nilzen Literary Prize For A First Novel. It's a great read! The Bigger Boat Writers' Series at 4Cs welcomes Amy Brady Dec 2, 2020 at 6:30 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)

Dr. Brady is the editor-in-chief of the Chicago Review of Books, deputy publisher of Guernica, and the co-editor of House on Fire, an anthology of personal essays about climate change forthcoming from Catapult. Her writing on art, literature, and the environment has appeared in O, The Oprah Magazine, Slate, The New Republic, the Village Voice, the LA Times, The Los Angeles Review of Books, and other places. She's won awards from the National Science Foundation and the Bread Loaf Environmental Writers Conference and is a recipient of a CLIR/Mellon Research Fellowship at the Library of Congress. She holds a PhD in English from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and lives in the New York City area.
