Looking for a chance to showcase your poetry? The Barrington Cultural Commission is hosting its Poetry in the Park event on Thursday, June 22 at Citizen's Park.

The theme for inspiration is "Summer...Sunshine and Storms" ☀️ Details include:
- Poems must be original and read by the author
- Poets may submit up to three poems between April 15 and May 31
- Language must be appropriate for a general audience
- Length of each poem should be no more than 3 minutes

Calling All Storytellers! 🎙️ Join Barrington’s White House for a fun evening of storytelling hosted by professional storytellers Jim May and Megan Wells!

Amateur and novice storytellers alike are invited to step to the microphone and share their personal tale relating to our theme of “Ghost Stories and Scary Tales.” Stories should be of your own true experience whether it be humorous, serious, thoughtful or inspirational. Stories should be family friendly, no longer than 5 minutes, and not read.

These works of art were done by local artist Mort Luby, who paints watercolors and oils in his Dundee studio and part-time home in Hawaii.

Join us at Barrington’s White House on Sunday, July 17th from 3:00 - 5:00 pm as we honor Mort Luby!

As a coveted performer with a diverse repertoire, American soprano Michelle Areyzaga is held in high regard by orchestras and opera companies throughout the United States and abroad.

➡️ Areyzaga has performed operatic roles with New York City Opera in Telemann’s Orpheus as well as in their VOX series
➡️ She has appeared in leading roles with Chicago Opera Theater, Lyric Opera of Chicago’s In the Neighborhoods programs, Ravinia Festival, Opera Birmingham, and Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México
➡️ Michelle has become well-known for her interpretation of his delightful and moving music – from her portrayal of Cunegonde in Candide to her participation in varied programs featuring his works, including musical theater and chamber music/recital works.
