Here is a video of our Scottie near the pond & waterfall. May 13, 2024.
Springtime and blossoms have come to Deer Path Gardens
A quiet & slow walk with Barney, our Scottie’s…along the south edge of our property. You can see one of many lovely wild Apple and Dogwood trees.
So it’s January 10, 2024 and I’m dreaming of summer days in the warm breezy garden.
How We Trim Trees
HOW WE TRIM OUR TREES
My husband climbs into a wooden box he built to attach to the lift bucket on our garden tractor. I jump into the tractor seat and operate the levers that raise, lower and tilt/level the box. He uses his extended-handle chain saw to reach the high branches. We’re having more fun than we want to share with our kids! 😁
Wishing everyone a happy and fun Labor Day Weekend with family and friends, or just staying home and quietly counting your blessings. This afternoon my husband installed a new water fountain in our lower pond that changes colors at night. I’ll post a nighttime video in a day or to.
Sounds of an early morning at Deer Path Gardens. 6:00 AM - 07/14/23
Good Morning! Squirrels are relentless when it comes to raiding our high window (suction cup) feeders. When nuts are included, nothing deters them. I’ve often wondered how in the world they get up there… and now I know! They are determined and fearless little stinkers, but we love them all.
I’m thankful to God for the wonderful rain that’s falling softly on the farmers fields and gardens. It’s been nearly a month since we’ve had any significant rain and that’s rare for this early in the summer. Water from the well keep things alive, but it’s the sweet and gentle rains from Heaven that greens-up our fields and lawns.
We have LOTS of bees spreading nectar all through our gardens. This one is as Busy as a Bee! 🐝🐝🐝
If you want to attract Baltimore Oriels and woodpeckers, put out Grape Jelly and fresh Oranges wedges. These feeders are special Oriel feeders and the woodpeckers are taking over.
Four little Scotties pulling Santa Scottie showed up at Deer Path Gardens today just as huge snowflakes started falling. We got over 3 inches and the Scotties love it! 😁
October 1, 2022, Acorns Dropping: I don’t remember ever hearing the acorns dropping like this. I’m wondering if maybe the sudden cool (30s at night) temperatures has caused them to lose their grip on the stems. 🤷♀️ Sounds lovely with the birds!
Yeah for an all-day rain! We desperately need this!
I’m thankful to God for so many butterflies that bring quiet peace, cheer, beauty and enchantment to the gardens. Have a blessed Labor Day Weekend and enjoy the beauties of nature each day. God is Good.
Glenn and I had the joy of working in our gardens most of today. It’s the most beautiful display of tree blossoms we remember. As evening came, I wearily strolled through the gardens and felt rejuvenated as my heart and soul marveled at the beauties God has given us. I am in awe of our majestic and orderly Creator God. I wish you could come and enjoy the blossoms… we love to share. And, you’ll see a video of a woodpecker (Northern Flicker) eating an orange at the Baltimore Oriole feeder. May 11, 2022
