Hummmmmmm...

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Former Democratic Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer isn't saying if he'll run for president in 2016. But if he does, he thinks he can connect with voters in Iowa. Schweitzer served as governor from 2005 through early 2013.

Unanimous!

The Heritage Act just passed out of Senate Committee this morning WITHOUT opposition. Do you 'like' it when Congress can AGREE the Front should stay the way it is?

Mathew Bird Creek area slated for wetlands restoration project

Mathew Bird Creek area slated for wetlands restoration project

Several tributaries trundle through town on their way to the East Gallatin River, and some are worse off for it. But the Greater Gallatin Watershed Council is beginning an effort that may allow neighborhoods to change that.

“Nothing will change if nobody learns”

Jeff Goebel began facilitating a conflict between warring ethnic groups in Djenne, Mali in 1998. Within 15 months of his second workshop on food scarcity, the seven tribes began working together, nearly doubling their food production, Goebel says.

Lynn Donaldson

Loved this short video from the dreamy Lynn Donaldson regarding special places integral in raising her kiddos...in the wilderness!

Outdoor mom Lynn Donaldson wants her daughter and two sons to grow up wild. She needs places like Montana’s Mill Creek to share with her children. What might seem like just a dead end on a forest service road to others is a favorite sledding spot for Lynn and her family.

Guest column: We need balance between development, environment

Very well said by our friends at Oboz Footwear. Business owners across Montana are standing up for public lands...and by supporting the Rocky Mountain Front Heritage Act, Forest Jobs and Recreation Act, and Land and Water Conservation Fund we can preserve these special places and access to them.

Bozeman routinely makes lists as one of the best places to live in America. We attribute this to two main factors: our outdoor recreation and our booming economy. These two things are directly connected.

Beauty and the Beasts

America’s public lands are spectacular, free and horrendously neglected. Maybe members of Congress should hike the Pacific Crest Trail to see for themselves.

Would a Gay Man Be Welcomed Home in Montana?

On granite peaks, in the belly of a rapid, and while enjoying a slice of pie in Mainstreet, Montana...we are all the same. Lovely read.

When I was growing up, Montana had often been an ugly place. Was it still?
