Great to see Bv Heritage connecting young people with old traditions!

Had an amazing day at the 4th grade Rendezvous! We made butter, drilled holes with hand drills, made pasta with a meat grinder, and even washed some stuff by hand on a washboard! The best group of pioneers yet!

Under the guidance of Interim Executive Director Michael Hannigan, CCCF has raised thousands of dollars for local nonprofits, conducted nonprofit training seminars and created endowment and donor advised funds that will continue to give back to our community.

As the CCCF Board of Directors looks towards the future, there has been a rigorous process to evaluate and hire the most qualified candidate to continue this positive momentum for our community.

Our second free KidZart class today was full and everyone had a great time making mosaic art! Thanks to Sabrina Carter our artist instructor and Andra Hendrie her assistant for leading the class. Tonight Henry went to business after hours at Watershed and an Architectural Guidelines public input session. We try not to make a habit of mixing business with family, but when he’s surrounded by the best of our community, why not? Thanks to all who came out tonight in support of small business, historic Main Street and historic ranchland (for those who attended the Centerville Ranch development hearing). You are giving your time so that Henry’s grandchildren’s world will resemble our own.

Two great organizations out to please the planet and those in it! Happy to provide the space to make things like this happen!

Today we partnered with Chaffee Green to make recyclable bags for the girls to take home to use and for community members. We try very hard to instill environmental stewardship in our girls- both during and outside our adventures. The girls had a blast and learned why single use plastic bags are so detrimental.

It was " literally" standing room only today at Evelyn Gottschall Baker's studio tour and meet the artist demonstration. She explained and showed us her groundbreaking glass sculpting technique and fielded many questions from the audience. The next Chaffee Arts studio tour will be on April 13 at WildStone Ceramics so save the date.

Rick Bieterman has been working with stained glass for twenty years. Lately, his inspiration comes from his surroundings. Many of the materials are sourced on hikes in and around Watershed Ranch. A large collection of old tools, farm equipment, and other history lie in a “boneyard” a few acres in size and have become the link between old world and new life.

Stop in Watershed BV to check out his artwork! It will be for sale during Business After Hours on February 21 too.

The Buena Vista Historic Preservation Commission is seeking public comment in developing architectural guidelines for Historic East Main Street in Buena Vista. A meeting will be held at the BV Community Center (Pinion Room) on Thursday, February 21st, from 5:30 P.M. to 7 P.M.; interested residents and property/business owners are invited and encouraged to provide input early in the draft process.
