There are so many "asks" for donations everyday that normally I wouldn't ask but for this one, I am putting the ask out there to you, It is in memory of a dear friend who recently lost her life to Pancreatic Cancer. Though we believed our prayers would save her, the cancer was much to fierce and won the battle. Linda loved life. Family and friends were her world. A gifted listener and storyteller, she was always so happy to make others laugh, often at the expense of herself. Linda committed herself to helping others both in her personal and professional life – it was just what she did, who she was. She believed deeply in the value of education and the opportunities it can bring, in terms of both career advancement and building community. In her memory, her husband and 2 children created the Linda M. Malisan, OD Scholarship at Liguori Academy.

For 30 years, Linda practiced Optometry in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs before pancreatic cancer extinguished her beautiful light. This scholarship, contributing to Liguori
Academy’s Reaching Higher Program, is dedicated to continuing her legacy of caring for & supporting others, love of laughter, life, and all its boundless opportunities. Scholarship Recipient Michael Alvarez, an exceptional 9th-grade student will be the first recipient of the Linda M.

Malison Scholarship. Michael comes from a family of 12, with an annual household income of $10,968. He faces challenges many young students face in Philadelphia accessing the high-quality education that Liguori Academy provides. Michael stands out as a promising individual with a passion for learning and an impressive array of interests.

Your support will directly impact Michael's education by covering his tuition, ensuring he can continue his academic journey and pursue his passion for art. By investing in Michael's
