Held thrice a year in the Julie Ince Thompson Theatre at The Dance Complex, the Shared Choreographers’ Concert series was the first project started by The Dance Complex. This opportunity is unique and unavailable outside an academic environment, where one can get his or her piece presented to the community. The next Shared Choreographers' Concert will be held October 12 & 13, 2012. The showings wi
th the mentors will take place on September 16 & 30 and the Dress Rehearsal is on October 11, 2012. There is no cost to propose and showcase a piece and selected choreographers will be allotted a set amount of rehearsal time and space to prepare. For more information regarding the Shared Choreographers' Concert, go to Programs at www.dancecomplex.org. Founded in 1991 through the combined efforts of the dance community, the City of Cambridge and the Central Square Business Association, The Dance Complex was built upon the key principles of process and community and has been one of the most significant players in the greater Boston and Cambridge art community to date. It is a volunteer-based, artist run organization - located on 536 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139 - that offers classes, rehearsals, performances, and meetings where dance can thrive. The Dance Complex is a 501(c) 3 non-profit, supported, in part, by the Massachusetts Cultural Council a state agency. We hope this is an opportunity that you and your dancers are interested in, as we are making sincere efforts to bring in a variety of talent and showcase what the greater Boston dance community has to offer.
