Mothers Day is just one week away...Starting Monday May 4th The Flower Cottage will be open it's usual hours of 9:00 till 5:00. We are delivering and doing curbside will call. Unfortunately inside the store will be for employees only.Mothers Day Sunday we will be open for pick ups from 10:00 until 1:00.Please order early.We have plenty of beautiful flowers coming in for purchase but we will not be doing any additional purchasing of product.Our delivery service will be opening may 4th .However certain suburbs are being excluded this year due to non-participating members.This is out of our control and there will be no exceptions.Thank you for your business and understanding. This is a difficult year with covid19 restrictions but we are doing the best we can to provide the best product and service while keeping everyone safe

The Illinois Department of Commerce has recently stated that florists can be open during the Covid 19 crisis for contactless delivery only.Our storefront must remain closed to walk in traffic. With this in mind,we will attempt to be open on a limited basis as of today,April 20. I will have limited staff so please be patient.If you call and get voicemail please leave a message and i will return your call.My co-op delivery service is not in operation yet so delivery capabilities will be reviewed on a individual basis.Our delivery service is hoping to be fully functional in time for Mother's Day.Please place your everyday or Mother's day order early.Mothers day is may 10th. I would hope you place that order by May 2nd.Please understand that product is very limited these days. In addition to limited product we will also have a reduced staff.It is highly likely that we will only take a limited amount of orders so please order early.We will be doing everything possible to keep you and my staff healthy

The Flower Cottage is open for business. Yes we are still delivering love, smiles and get well wishes. I think we all could use a little cheer in these uncertain times. We ask that you provide us with the recipients phone number so that we may phone ahead in case they may want their flowers left outside their door to minimize contact. If you are planning to stop in for a pick up please place your order in advance so that we can have it ready. Please know that we are sanitizing our door and counters several times a day in an effort to keep us all safe and healthy.We are all in this together .Love and prayers to all of you. Stay safe

Christmas is in full swing at The Flower Cottage.Our beautiful poinsettias are coming in weekly.Our larger sizes go quickly so please don't wait.These beautiful plants shout Christmas and are easily cared for with regular watering. Well folks...It happened this past Saturday,my daughter,Brittany was married to Jimmy Roberto.As predicted by many people,the flowers were over the top beautiful.Although I designed most of these on paper and ordered the flowers,the real design credit goes to Nancy Caruso.It was Nancy's skilled hands that put the flowers into the arrangements and supervised the entire set up of both the church and the venue.Nancy started the week taking a serious fall and spent her first day designing with her right hand while her left was packed in ice.What a trooper!Nancy you are a fantastic designer ,a great employee and a true friend.I must also thank Priscilla Flores who was called in the last few nights,late nights I must add,to help with designing the beautiful church flowers well as the delivery and set up at both the church and venue flowers.Of course all my employees contributed as well.Geri made the boutonnieres ,Dave and Mark packed and delivered.A special thanks go out to my friends that also helped with the delivery and set up;Larry and Katie.Nina and Danish,Sally and Ray.

What a nightmare Teleflora can be.On February15th we were sent about 20 orders over the lnternet to fill for Teleflora headquarters.They failed to tell us or the senders that their valentine's orders were going out a day late.lots of angry people.If you need flowers call a real florist or go to their website.Internet services like Teleflora to FTD are just computers and operators.They keep about 30% of your money,charge extra fees,and make promises they can't live up to.When you need flowers please keep The Flower Cottage in mind.We appreciate your business and work hard to earn it.

Valentine'sDay is the busiest day of the year for us.If you are sending flowers to your sweethearts workplace please consider sending them on Monday the 12th or Tuesday the 13th,especially if they work at a school or a job that gets out before 5:00.Deliveries going downtown,the suburbs,and far north and south sides will be going to the delivery service the night before.We appreciate your business but please order early.We are expecting snow this weekend which will slow down the whole process.Help us to help you.Order early.

Construction almost over....With a little cooperation from the weather we should get new front windows and a new front door this week.A new roof and paint for the outside will have to wait for warmer spring weather.It will probably take a week or more to put it all back together but we should be open for in store shopping by the end of the week.Thank you all for your patience.Hope everyone had great holidays and we are looking forward to 2018.
