HISTORY IN MOTION… Rivers, Roads, Rails, & Runways

Behringer-Crawford Museum in the historic Devou family home (c. 1848 - 1880) opened to the public in 1950. It was so named because it featured the natural history collections of West Covington native and world traveler, William Behringer, and in honor of the museum’s first curator and noted archeologist, Ellis Crawford. Today

, the museum has transformed into a regional cultural center for the residents and tourists to our area. Featuring 450 million years of Northern Kentucky history and culture as viewed through the lens of transportation - Rivers, Roads, Rails & Runways, visitors enjoy hands-on, interactive exhibits and activities and purchase specialty souvenirs from the BCM Museum Store in a newly expanded and renovated 20,000 sq ft facility. Behringer-Crawford Museum is also home to definitive collections of artwork by Mary Bruce Sharon, Harlan Hubbard and Wolfgang Ritschel and presents a broad range of ongoing creative, innovative and fascinating exhibits and educational programs for all ages. These include Music@BCM Concert Series, freshART, Holiday Toy Trains, the Junior Curator Program in Archaeology, school and civic group tours, and other events in consonance with our mission: "The regional history of Northern Kentucky as part of the Ohio Valley must be preserved for the benefit of present and future generations. Therefore, the Behringer-Crawford Museum is a center for the collection, presentation, study and enjoyment of our natural, cultural, and visual and performing arts heritage." ACCESSIBILITY:
The museum's offerings are available to all persons without regard to ethnicity, gender, creed, national origin, age, or disability. Contact the museum for a list of opportunities.

🎃 Happy Halloween from NaturePlay@BCM! 🎃

BCM Curator of Collections, Jason M French, has gone full lumberjack mode this Halloween! 🪓🌲 He’s been spotted attempting to chop down trees in the museum's play area… but it turns out he's not alone! 👀 Just when he thought it was a routine day in Devou Park, he came face-to-face with our mysterious friend, Bigfoot!

Even the bravest lumberjacks can get a little spooked!

Have a safe and spooky Halloween from all of us at Behringer-Crawford Museum! 🕸️

🐾🎉 Happy National Cat Day! Today, we’re celebrating our favorite feline at Behringer-Crawford Museum: the Cincinnati Bengals' iconic Who Dey! 🧡🐅

Did you know the Bengals’ mascot tradition began in the late 1960s? Their first tiger, “Benzoo,” was a live cub born at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, who roared on the sidelines in a circus wagon painted in Bengals colors. 🐯 The team switched to costumed mascots in 1972, and by the 1993-94 NFL season, Who Dey as we know him today finally joined the team. Over 30 years later, he’s more beloved—and stylish—than ever!

See Who Dey and other Cincinnati Bengals treasures in the "Road to the Bengals," on display now thru Feb. 9. 🧡🏈
