World War II | Stories From The American Experience
How do the stories of the Second World War live on from generation to generation? This exhibit shares rare artifacts and the very personal memories of those who owned them. Explore the three theaters of operation: Europe, the Pacific, and the Home Front through over 100 artifacts and images from the collection of historian, Ryan Lowry. #DYK: Due to supply shortages during WWII, on May 5th, 1942 the U.S government released the โSugar Bookโ. The 28 stamp book would ensure everyone got their fair share of sugar. It was followed by stamps for coffee, butter and other fats, red meat, and canned goods.
