The Innovation Co-Lab is excited to announce its first-ever Artist Residency with multi-disciplinary sculptor and fabricator Zak Weinberg.
During his week-long residency at the Innovation Co-Lab, Zak will be leading workshops, teaching students about laser fabrication, sharing his process, and designing a new piece of art to be hung in the Co-Lab Studio. Members of the Duke Community can visit our Studios throughout the week to observe and work together with Zak on this project. This will last until Friday April 12!
Residency Kickoff

Meet the artist and enjoy a presentation on creative process and influence, followed by opportunities for Q&A and casual discussion.

Making Mandalas in Illustrator - Co-Lab Roots Workshop
Tuesday, April 9, 2019, 2-4pm, Innovation Co-Lab Classroom at the TEC
Hands-on Adobe Illustrator workshop led by Zak Weinberg, exploring and experimenting with geometric principles, layering, intersection, and generating patterns. Participants will leave with a design that they can laser-cut later in the week.

Workshop participants can continue to develop their personal designs and transform them into physical objects. Pre-made files will also be available for use, for those who couldn’t make the workshop.
