Groovy’s is still crankin’ out countless meals, and the box truck outside has been filled and refilled a dozen times. Keep the donations comin’! We have a team of badasses in every nook and holler they can find doin’ good works. Your Venmo is providing clutch items like grills, propane, camping and medical supplies, dog and cat food, fuel, food, and water. Drop off and take as needed, 8am-8pm daily for the foreseeable future, no appointment necessary.

If you’re a restaurant owner, please sign up on their website to receive further instructions on how to get a trained crew of disaster relief workers to pick up your food, deliver it to the right places, and reimburse you so your business doesn’t die trying to help others!! Truly remarkable work by and we are endlessly grateful for the helping hands.

*COFFEE NEED HAS BEEN MET! Thank you ALL for your contributions. If anyone still wishes to help the National Guard, we will also collect snacks for them!*

We have a story to share that is weighing heavy on our hearts. As many of you know, we have National Guard soldiers in our area working tirelessly to aid those impacted by Hurricane Helene.

We received a call asking if our thrift store, Wags to Riches, had any coffee pots that we'd be willing to donate to help caffeinate these soldiers as they serve.

We do have one tall coffee urn that we'll gladly give, but we're talking 250+ soldiers here. They deserve more.

Yes, we're an animal-saving organization but we also fully support our military and first responders. Could we, as a community, come together to provide these heroes with a couple more coffee urns, ground coffee, paper cups with lids (or even reusable tumblers/thermoses with lids) , powdered creamer, sugar, etc?

We will be collecting these items at the Appalachian Highlands Humane Society located at 2101 W. Walnut Street, Johnson City, TN 37604 this week and next.

Although social media has been proven effective please, If you are missing a loved one provide information to the TBI FIRST to get immediate response❗️

NEWS ALERT: The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has established a hotline to coordinate reports of missing persons in the areas affected by the recent severe flooding impacting parts of East Tennessee.

Those wishing to report missing individuals believed to be in the affected areas across East Tennessee may contact 1-800-TBI-FIND. Callers should be prepared to relay as much identifying information as possible, including names, phone numbers, vehicle identification, and last known whereabouts. Recognizing the importance of accounting for individuals who may be missing, the TBI urges the public to refrain from calling to inquire about the status of personal properties in the affected areas.

The information gathered by the TBI will be immediately available to law enforcement authorities in the response area for further follow-up.

NOTE: If you're trying to locate individuals missing from North Carolina, please call 211 if you're within NC or 1-888-892-1162 if you're outside the state.

Keep in mind of the items still needed for donations and if you are in need of food or supplies you can pick them up here as well. Hours are 8pm today.

Locals and those far away- here’s how you can help first hand. STILL COME TO NEW SALEM

1- we have chosen New Salem Baptist as our command center due to their proximity to the Snapp Bridge. 421 Lester Snapp Rd in Limestone. Huge thank you to the church for allowing us to use their grassy area. The funny farm truck will be there (navy f150, just find it and you'll see me)

2- dropping off of donations can start at 8am and continue until we post differently here. We will stop an hour before dark.

3- these items are going to south central and embreeville and anyone one "the island" These families lost it all. Believe me when I say, this is going to the right place.

4- signals are limited. Text is best if you have questions. Tammy is 423-329-3632 and will be at the church 8am.

5- BREAKFAST need.
Milk, cereal, eggs, sausage, whatever. We need to get breakfast to people. We're looking at over 500 people yall. This is with the help of Pilot Hill, the bulk food store, and the south central cafeteria cooking. They can cook, we just need the food. Limited fridge space at the shelter. THIS IS THE FIRST LOAD GOING OVER AT 8am.

6- if you’re on the “island” and can help- meet at your side of Snapp bridge to drive the items to the shelter. We will help with gas every chance we can.

Can’t help buying things? You can run jugs to gas stations to fill up. We have told them to bring us jugs and we can go to the stations around and get gas to bring back across the line. We’ll find the money to get the gas.

If you know a restaurant locally needing to offload food because their power is out- they can cook it!!!

Far away and want to help financially? Our Venmo is (3632) and just type ‘flood’ as the description. I can send receipts if you need them. The money will most likely be used for gas and ice at this point.

Shelters & donation drop off locations 🔽

So saddened for the devastation in our towns and communities this week. Please remember if you have a home and your loved ones you are blessed as many people are homeless and are still missing loved ones.

Shelters are in place as well as donation locations. See comments for some of the places you can go or donate. If you have information about other locations and resources please feel free to add to the comments and share! If any of my food truck friends or restaurants are offering meals please comment as well!

Many thanks and prayers to our first responders working around the clock to help!!! Please stay out of the way if you do not need to travel, this is not the time to go on an adventure to gawk. Emergency personnel need space to save lives!

Time to make some babies!!!

It's time for August ladies night out! And we're making babies!

AUGUST 10TH 6PM TO 8PM
This event is open to anyone and everyone who would like to attend!
It's one of our all-time favorites as we get our hands dirty and take you through all of the different types of propagation and let you try them out for yourself!

Take home 15 plant babies of a wide variety of different species including some classic crowd favorites and even some rarities!
Only $40 per tray of plants! Which includes all of your pots, soil, 15 plant starts, and some wonderfully Wicked one on one advice!
And of course the cocktail for the evening!!!
