A dear friend of mine, Connie Weaver, passed away a few days ago. She was half of the couple who own here in Geneva. She was also the head of the Geneva Green Market - they took over at the old Gracious Hall Kitchen when we closed in 2018.
I met Connie almost 13 years ago when we first moved to Geneva and opened Preservation. Connie had a love and passion for food, local farmers and, most importantly, lifting up small business that was inspiring. In the competitive Geneva food landscape and in the Green Market Connie was always willing to help a fellow entrepreneur, offer a hand or a supportive word.
When The Green Market took over the space that was Gracious Hall it was a such a bittersweet and conflicted time for me. It was comforting knowing Connie and the Green Market were taking the reigns to support and mentor other local food businesses and care for the space I had put so much of my heart and soul into. She was one of the hardest workers I've ever known, but she always had a smile to offer, a deep laugh to share and an ear to listen.
She will be so incredibly missed by this community and all her clients and especially, of course, by her family. She touched and was important to more lives than she knew - what a blessing to know her.

The weather is sooo nice today, but it’s the end of October so let’s face it - it could be snowing by morning. You’re gonna want to have some soup on hand. This coconut curried cauliflower and roasted root vegetable are in order. Lots of good veggies, healthy fats, organic bone broth… you’re all set. Add in some yeast dinner rolls or a loaf of sourdough… ❤️❤️❤️
