Goldendale Grange #49 (WA) provided the venue for the recent Goldendale FFA Awards Banquet. Goldendale's FFA chapter is recognized Nationwide for their accomplishments. It was truly heartwarming to see these young future leaders, dressed in their official blue jackets conducting the awards banquet in front of a packed house of members, parents and guests. We congratulate all the award winners and chapter members on their impressive list of achievements. Advisors Josh and Randi were recently recognized as the Washington State Grange Teachers of the Year.

Linda Williams, long term resident of Klickitat County, was honored on May 24th at Goldendale Grange #49. She was presented with the 50-year gold sheaf award for her fifty-year longevity in the Grange. A beautiful cake was made for the occasion and shared with fellow Grangers. Linda’s membership in the fraternal grassroots organization began some fifty years ago in Trout Lake Grange #210, a small Grange at the base of Mt. Adams. During her years there she served as Master for a good many of them. She also served as the County’s Pomona Master for the West Klickitat #32 before it was consolidated with East Klickitat #5 Pomona Grange. During that time, she also took a turn at being the west end’s County Grange Deputy under the WA State Grange. While living in Trout Lake she took the job as Grange Insurance Agent. Linda is the current Master of Glenwood Grange #94. She shares a dual membership with Goldendale Grange. Linda has been fortunate to share her Grange experience with her husband Larry. Larry has been her support person through all her Grange activities and admits he thoroughly enjoys Grange potlucks. Congratulations Linda.

Goldendale Grange #49 (WA) spent a fun day demonstrating the use of vintage hand crank apple, peelers, corers and slicers at the recent Goldendale FFA Ag Days. Ag Day was created by the local chapter to introduce children under 10 to various interactive Ag activities. Several hundred youngster from around the county participated in the fun and educational day. We were excited to have been asked to participate.

Five Grangers Lucille, Dan, Richard, Claudine, and Sara represented Klickitat County at Western Regional Grange Leaders Conference 2024. Three days were packed with interesting and informative workshops, business tours of a winery, agricultural museum, brewery and hop farm, and an asparagus farm.
