24 Hour update!

Things are looking good for the 24 Hour. We got rain last night. Not near enough. I was out there this morning, and the moisture is already going away. Bring lots of air filters! I am making a second run though my emails and texts to see who I have missed. If you haven't heard from me by, tonight give me a call. Unfortunately, with Brent being injured, I am way behind. Brent is doing better. He is down at OHSU for a checkup today. Hopefully he will get the drain out of his liver.

There will be lots of fun wheat field sections. 3 loops. We are using lots of hay bales and baling twine to remind people where you need to go. Scott has dug out the water section by the sign-up trailer. The question of the day is whether it will have water in it.
We have some new pits to the west. So far, this section is mainly Iron people.

I have more room for teams and Iron people. The entry form is on the web site under register now. Fill that out and send it to me. The pits are all assigned so please contact me ahead of time.

One change this year. NO PEDAL BIKES ON PIT ROW. This means electric assist as well. It would do well for everyone to remember the 5 mile an hour speed limit. We certainly understand adrenaline, but we expect everyone to act in a civilized manner. After some of the disrespect that we got last year, we will be a little less tolerant of speeders.

When coming to the race, please be respectful of cattle on the highway. The ranchers are moving their cattle to their winter pasture. Klickitat county is open range. The cattle have the right of way. Do not try to push though the herd unless directed.

We will have a Halloween party for the kids. If you have any goodies or games to donate to the party, we could certainly put them to use. The kids will trick or treat in the pits after dark. Please keep your eye out for them.

We will also do a raffle to support our local Sheriff's Deputies. We are looking for donations. Clothing, motorcycle stuff, kids' stuff, drinkables, motorcycle parts etc.
We will hold the raffle after the race while we are scoring the race.

Thanks,

Debbie & Scott

We will have a playday this weekend at Eddieville. Saturday, Sunday &Monday. 8:30am - 4:30pm.

Brent is finally doing better. His liver is starting to process the bile more efficiently. His lung seems to be sealing up. They are giving him heavy duty antibiotics for his infection. Maybe he will be able to come home next week.

On the 24 hour front. I will get in contact with everyone tomorrow or Sunday. Thanks for your patience. The guys have 3 loops made up so far. Scott is using a lot of cones with arrows on them. Hopefully they will show up well at night. I still have room for more entries.

Don't forget the Lady Stump jumpers ladies ride next weekend at Eddieville.

Thanks,
Debbie

Update on Brent.
Unfortunately he is back in ICU. Had a surgery on Wednesday to put drain tube in and clean around his liver and another on Thursday to put a stint in his liver.
Apparently when you have bile that gets where it is not supposed to be, it can cause infection. He is getting antibiotics and they are keeping a close eye on him. He is feeling better tonight.

I am working through the 24 hour entries. Those that haven't heard from me will hear from me soon.

Debbie

6 Hour and Brent news.

We are going to cancel the 6 Hour Team Race at Eddieville this coming weekend. With Brent being in the
hospital we don't have enough bodies to get a course ready.

Scott and I would like to thank everyone that stepped up and helped us with the NMA race this weekend. It went very smoothly. We love the off-road community! I should have those results posted tonight. I am off to see Brent.

Brent is finally out of ICU. All tubes and drains are out. He has several broken ribs, the collapsed lung, perforated liver and compression fractures on the spine. They are saying that he can go home as soon as he can walk up and down the hall.

He is in OHSU if anyone wants to talk with him. I think he has his phone now as well.

Thanks for all your prayers and concern,

Debbie & Scott

NMA/BRENT update!
The race is still on at the Ridge on Sunday.
Some of you may have heard that Brent had a bad crash at Eddieville yesterday. He was life flighted to OHSU. He is currently in ICU under heavy sedation. He collapsed his left lung, perforated his liver and has a couple of compression fractures on his spine. They are talking about taking the breathing tube out today. Hopefully the drain in his lung as well. They are saying that he may have to stay in the hospital for a couple of weeks to help heal the liver.

So the race is still on tomorrow. Don't know if Scott will be. You will have to put up with John and I at the riders meeting. I am running behind on my signups. I am working on them today.
Debbie
