The GSIC Athletic Booster Club got together with Kicks 99 and George Claussen from Friends With Benefits and decided to put on a concert to help the new charter school in Hephzibah build their athletic program. GSIC is located at 5073 Storey Mill Road in Hephzibah, Georgia. GSIC serves grades Kindergarten through seventh and expands by one grade level per year. GSIC is committed to excellence in a
ll its endeavors, including delivering a classical education centered on the three phases of the Classical Trivium: grammar (grades 1-4), logic (grades 5-8), and rhetoric (grades 9-12) with an employment of the Socratic method throughout the classroom experience. The critical thinking skills developed through the rigorous use of the Socratic Method throughout the curriculum will foster an ethic of self-leadership and be a platform for learning the four Classical Virtues: Wisdom, Justice, Temperance, and Courage. Supplemented by at least four optional Career Pathways for secondary students including: Linguistics, Nuclear Technology, Sustainable Agriculture, and Entertainment Technology, students at GSIC will participate in unique civic, industry, and higher education partnerships. GSIC just this year, started up an athletic department and with the help of the GSIC Athletic Booster Club, they have developed a baseball, Softball, Golf and Cross Country team. As GSIC grows the school plans to add more sports, with the help of sponsors, we can start to build the facilities to hold sporting events. Georgia School of Innovation and the Classics just open their doors last year, and it was a great first year. The parents are supportive of GSIC and are excited about things to come with the new school. This year we have had parent request about team sports. After talking with some parents, we came together to form the GSIC Athletic Booster Club. The Georgia School of Innovation and the Classics Athletic Booster Club supports the GSIC Athletic Department by seeking donations, financial support, and volunteers from individuals, businesses, and community organizations. We are a non-profit organization that seeks to provide opportunities for students to have enriching athletic opportunities beyond what the local schools are able to supply. May we rely on your support for our athletes for the 2017-2018 school year? We are seeking monetary and in-kind donations to help maximize the finances received through student participation fees and fundraising. With this concert, we are hoping to be able to help the school with building facilities to house the sports that all the kids deserve. Your donation helps the Booster organization provide students with equipment, uniforms, travel and registration fees and hopefully soon a baseball and softball field and more to come as the school grows in the sports department. In return, we will advertise your business as one that supports our athletes in the schools and our ongoing efforts to enrich the community’s and school’s athletic department. Sponsors are acknowledged on our shirts, banners, and on our page. The Booster Club members will be working hard throughout the year to raise funds. The students in the athletic program are required to keep their grades up, to participate in practices, games and to uphold the school morals Wisdom, Justice, Temperance, and Courage. They sacrifice their free time because they believe in and receive benefits from being involved in a sport. The GSIC Athletic Booster Club wants every student to have the opportunity to go higher and further with his or her athletic skills and abilities. HELP GSIC GROW THEIR ATHLETIC PROGRAM
