Remember that wonderful little girl I got to officially meet the other day?
She was quite excited to tell me, since I "looked like Santa, almost" that she was going to get to go to the Galleria in Houston right after Thanksgiving and meet him and have her picture taken with him.
I did warn her that it might be more fun to do that sooner, starting with the second week in November. "He'll" be there but a lot of the other people who want to see him might not be. There's a really long line starting right after Thanksgiving. Even if you call ahead and make an appointment. Think ahead, Mama!
I'll give you the phone number for making the appointment just before he starts meeting all y'all there!

Yes, Elizabeth died today. But she's in Heaven now. And old Santa is a saint, you know. I'll get to visit her every once in a while.

Hi! Thanks for looking the page up and reading it. I hope you liked it and will be coming through here again.
One important message I haven't mentioned yet. I will be posing for our cameraman (woman) 's pictures starting the second week of November. Yes, that early. If you want to avoid the lines you sortof have to come that week or the week after. (At the Galleria.)

Wasn't yesterday a beautiful, restful day?!
Among other things, I got to meet a girl named Pegeen. I don't meet many of them anymore, and when I do it's usually on the Auld Sod, as we sometimes call Ireland. But this was in Galveston, TX!

Tomorrow is Labor Day!!
What kind of work would you like to do when you're an adult?
Think really creatively. Maybe even outside of the box, as adults like to say.
Whatever you want to do, why not post a picture (like someone doing the kind of work you'd like to do when you grow up)? Get your parents to help you post here. (I always say that. It's a great idea, I think.) It can be a picture you found or a picture you drew or a short poem you (and maybe your parents) wrote.
Just have your parents help you to post it here on Santa Loves Houston some time tomorrow!
And then write notes about how nice you think everyone else's posts look or sound or ... You know! And hopefully find some comments you like to hear about your own post, eh?

Well, we did help them with the party. Through our wives, so that they wouldn't catch on to our help being from the North Pole.
I ran into them there. They sure are nice people.
They still don't know that I am Santa. They think I'm one of his helpers nick-named Red.
I'll probably run into them again at a National Dog Day event.
How am I having time for all of this and my work at the pole and my Christmas Eve flight? (Not to mention my appearances at so many malls (like the Galleria.) I don't like to tell too many people, so it's not surprising that all y'all (or most of you) don't know yet that I can manipulate time around me. That's how I can be at as many different places as I want to all at the same time!

Well, they had so much fun that some of my elves and I decided that we would help organize this World Beard Day Party.
Many of my male elves have white hear and beards, a good bit like mine. Others have hair that is around half white and half brown, black or red. I decided to be like them for this party. (I wasn't sure if I was ready for the visitors to know when they bet me the first time. I wanted to see what they were like when they weren't sure if I even came from the North Pole. Soooo, I dyed some of my face hair a happy, bright red. That was fun! So many joking comments from my elves and other people who knew me.)

They had so much fun getting ready for their benefit party.
Dad came home from work and enjoyed helping them.
They were proud of how much they made for the International Day of Charity, but they didn't brag about it. If someone asked, they just talked about how much fun it had been to put it together and enjoy it.
Even some people who had seen their posters along the streets, and had been to the event, but whom they hadn't known before, congratulated them.
One of those people was one of my elves in disguise. He told me all about it and I was so proud of them all. I've had that kind of fun before, and I know it can become a happy habit.
He also told me about their plan to meet me at the World Beard Day party if they could.
We'll see.

"Ack!" said his mother. "I'm carrying around next year's calendar! World Beard Day isn't until next Sunday! It's a good thing you're home schooled, eh? And actually another good thing that ... well, lots of them."
"That's OK, Mom! Plus, I looked at the calendar. There are three happy days in a row. And the last one is International Day of Charity. Let's go home and organize some kind of a party to make money for one of our favorite charities this Saturday!"
Boy, did that idea make Mama smile and the cat purr to beat the band.
"If we do it Saturday morning, we'll still have time to get to the Beard Day party Sunday evening. Maybe Santa will be there!"
"And you know how much he loves it when people do happy making things for each other!" added Mom.

Do you remember when I introduced all y'all to the little boy who wanted to meet me so much, Brandon, that he went looking for me?
Well, he talked about it so much with his dog, Fletch, that one day Fletch decided to talk out loud in human speak to him.
"Brandon," he said, "Did you know that Sunday, tomorrow, is World Beard Day? Let's find out where there's going to be celebration of it that we can go to. Surely someone there can tell us where we can meet Santa."
Well, at first, Brandon was surprised, of course. Fletch had never talked to him before. But, soon, he asked his mother if he could go.
And she told him that there were actually many dogs that she had talked to over the years, and that Fletch can talk with without being in the same room. And that she was going to go with them.
"I've never been to an International Beard Day party and I'm not going to miss this one. Get in the car!"

08/26/2022

Well, I missed a few days there. Old Santa has a nice car (Draw and post on Santa Loves Houston a picture of Santa's car - one that he drives when he's not sure he wants to be recognized - right here on Santa Loves Houston, if you'd like.) But it only has one key and we had lost it somehow. Ooops. Don't worry about that happening with my sleigh

This is the beginning of a new week!
This week, please draw a picture that has something to do with your favorite Fall sport and post it in this blog?
I promised all y'all that there would be a story, beginning today and here it is:
Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Brandon.
He lived in Houston with his family and their pets.
He read a lot of books and day dreamed, too.
What did he dream about? One of his favorite dreams was about meeting Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny and so many, many of his favorite "mythical creatures."
But were they really just stories? Could he really meet one of them?
Let's see?
(To be continued ...)

Santa Loves Houston is a blog here on FB in which Santa leaves stories and messages for parents and their children. It also heads up a children's artistic challenge in which each new subject (This week's is to make a picture of a way that Santa would get around Houston if he doesn't really want the people who see him to know its him. ) lasts a week and we hope that parents will post their children's pictures on the blog. Starting next week, Santa plans to make up a story and tell a bit of it every day on the site. And when it becomes closer to the opening day of the Santa photo booth at the Galleria, I plan to tell the parents how to easier and faster get their Christmas photos taken there. Such as letting you know that it will be open for the season a little earlier this year = the second week in November. And I promise to get better at separating info for the parents and the children into different posts.

Santa here. Has anyone finished our art project -- Make a picture of how I'm getting around Houston this week? (Not a sleigh.) - if so, please feel free (with your parent's permission - unless you are a parent, of course) to post it on Santa Loves Houston!! - Another neat place I like to visit is Persia. They have a story about how I was once a holy person there. I don't know. It was so long ago, I guess I might have. (Get ready for me being at the Galleria and please take it easy on yourselves and visit before Thanksgiving, to avoid the crowd.)

08/17/2022

Don't forget! I come to Houston (because I love it here) quite often. But I don' t myself be recognized. And I have a Weekly Art Project going, inviting you to draw, etc. a picture of how I get around other than in my sleigh.
Please post your pictures on the Santa Loves Houston page so that we can all see them!
I'll be arriving officially, so you can see me and pose for pictures, etc., the second week of November. It's a lot easier to get into my area then, before Thanksgiving. I'll be over at the Galleria.
Have you ever been to the Grand Canyon? I have. It was so snowy, but there was a very nice forest and several of the animals let me see them.
Any questions? Please post them on Santa Loves Houston. Also your art!!

08/16/2022

Hello, everybody!
I do love visiting Houston! Not just when you know I'm here, but all year round.
There are so many happy things to see. For instance, I love the new land bridges in Memorial Park. I love to drive under them.
Will my sleigh fit under them? I don't think so. But then, I don't take it around with me all year. And I am not going to tell you what I do drive (or not = I do take the bus sometimes).
And if you think you see me, just smile and wave, please! Don't give me away by insisting on talking to me right then and there.
This week on Santa Loves Houston, I'm inviting any of you in elementary school or younger to an Art Project! Just post your art on the Santa Loves Houston Page! Make me a picture of one of the ways I get around without my sleigh, please?
Not a sleigh. But I have posted below this post on the page pictures of what my sleighs have looked like in the movies.
And, of course, look for me starting about three weeks before Thanksgiving at the Galleria getting my picture taken with you!
