Bad hair day? Just a little before and after on my wild red cedar wreath. We haven't had enough cold weather to get a full red blush on the branches yet. I usually recommend waiting until after Thanksgiving for this one, but will happily create one for you anytime! I've even had folks use these for Christmas in July. FoundinNature

Funny how paths in life seem clear when you look back at where they started. When we first went to the KC Irish Festival in 2004, I would've never dreamed I'd watch my child perform there 18 years later. Last night, she was onstage and on the big screen dancing with The Elders at the Fest's 20th anniversary. It was on the same stage where I first saw her teacher, Joseph Manning, dance. Her first festival was when she was just 2 months old, and I'm fairly sure she's been *every* year of her life, but I couldn't prove it. And it was there that she first saw Irish dancing, so I guess you could say it was written in her stars. She's been with O'Riada-Manning Academy now for over 10 years. It's been a wild, challenging ride with a lot of ups and downs and so many moments that make my heart full of pride and joy. It blows my mind that it can all be traced to a Friday evening in 2004, when my then-boyfriend and I accidentally snuck into that new festival. The universe clearly had a plan.

LAST CALL FOR GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!!

This is it, it’s going to be over this weekend. Have you gotten your 2021 Girl Scout cookies?? As of now we have everything except Caramel Chocolate Chip cookies. Our final booths are a little ways out but if you let us know we can meet up with you sometime this weekend. Everything will be first come-first served. Be sure to follow or page so you will be able to find cookies in 2022.

I love venue open houses because I get to show off totally different looks in the same place. The renovations at The Pavilion in Shawnee make it possible to dress it up or dress it down. Love it! I was lucky enough to work today at The DeLeon Event Space and Chapel. What a stunning venue. You can see that Eric and Jodi put all their years of wedding experience into the thoughtful and beautiful details. Plus it was so cool and quiet inside - delightful on a hot hot day!!
