Today marks the first day of . 🏳️‍🌈 A month dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQ culture while lifting their voices and supporting their rights. So let’s talk about those rights for a quick sec. The Missouri State Legislature has actually proposed 48 Anti-LGBTQ bills this year, trailing only Texas. Yeah, like 2nd highest in the nation. 🤔🤦🏻‍♀️ Politicians are trying to stop trans and gender-nonconforming people from making decisions about their bodies, their futures, and their lives and it’s time we do something. So while we celebrate our LGBTQ friends this month, we are also here to encourage everyone around us to do something about this crisis. It’s time to make commitments to start driving positive change for the LGBTQ community. Here are some easy ways to celebrate pride this month, and every month!

- March
- Donate
- Use your voice
- Vote!
- Support LGBTQ owned businesses
- Have conversations

When we read this inquiry from Shannon and Devin back in January of 2022, we knew it was going to be the perfect match! I think it’s safe to say the roaring 20’s, old Hollywood vision was brought to life, thanks to a freaking kickass team of amazing vendors that truly showed up!!!

What a delightful and unexpected surprise!!! It has certainly been a crazy couple of years that have pushed us to the point of feeling like we may not make it through! Planning weddings during a pandemic ain’t no cake walk!🤪 There may have been a few days where laying on the bathroom floor with a glass of 🥃 and a few 😭seemed like the only solution. This TOTALLY makes it worth it! We are so freaking lucky to be a part of a community that not only believes in working together, but shares so much love!!!🤍

We’ve said it once, we’ll say it again! Planning a wedding can be stressful, especially when planning during a global pandemic. So many decisions to be made, and lots of people, parents, family, and friends telling you what you need to do!

Do we require vaccinations?! Will we ask guests to wear masks? Should we cut down our guest list?! Pandemic wedding planning ain’t no joke!!😖😩

It’s so important that you don’t forget to take care of yourself throughout this process! Here are a ideas on how to practice self-care!

✔️Have a weekly date night where wedding talk is NOT allowed. 💏
✔️ Schedule a massage! 💆🏻‍♀️
✔️Hit the gym, or get outside for a long walk or jog! 🏃🏻‍♀️
✔️ Head to your favorite patio for some bubbly with your besties! 🥂
✔️ Take lots of bubble baths! 🛁
✔️ Read a good book! 📕
✔️ Go to yoga! 🧘🏽‍♀️
✔️ Grab a coffee with a friend!☕️
✔️ Plant a garden! 🪴
✔️ Do whatever brings you joy!😁

Remember that your wedding Day will come and go. Those 5-6 hours go soooo fast! Try your best to relax as much as you can before the big day gets here. And for heaven’s sake give us a call when you’re feeling overwhelmed! WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!!!! 😘😘😘

Determine your guest count, and budget before you book your venue! Couples can get super overwhelmed and financially stressed by choosing a venue that doesn’t fit in their budget. Figure your budget first, and remember, the higher your guest count, the higher the cost!

Be sure to get any non standard changes to your agreements with any of your vendors in writing. If something was verbally stated to you, always follow up with an email confirming the change you discussed in person or over the phone! Don't just assume everything is all set. Your key contact person often changes throughout the planning process, and whoever takes over may not be aware of the special permission you were given to do a drop off the day before, or stay an hour late etc. Paper Trails are golden, especially in the days of COVID where you may have to postpone your day, or decide you didn't need as much space as you thought you were going to need pre- pandemic! Keep those emails with all your vendors organized and easy to track down. Print them out if you have to! ✍🏼 💻
