At the rehearsal the day before Erin and Cam's wedding, we were planning an indoor ceremony. The forecast was calling for 6"+ of snow that would continue through the entirety of the next day. We called it 95% chance inside, but let's just keep 5% JUST IN CASE something crazy happens and Colorado surprises us. ⁠

Well, when we all woke up to blue skies and a completely changed forecast, this vendor team jumped into action to make their outdoor ceremony dreams come true! I can't wait to show you more photos from this awesome day!⁠

(4/5) After months of extensive planning, coordinating vendors, navigating meetings in different time zones, and finalizing all of the little details… we landed on the Big Island of Hawaii right after the new year!⁠
⁠
This is not going to be a post about the beauty of Hawaii, because, well, I think you know that already ☀️ But what I can say are the following differences between doing my job there vs. here in Colorado:⁠
⁠
- Less eucalyptus, more monstera. The tropical flowers are just to die for 🌺⁠
- Humidity is no joke. The amount of sweat that poured out of my body was unreal 😅 ⁠
- Rain plans are way less of a worry there since it’s pretty much always sunshine and rainbows (literally)⁠
- Island time is a real thing and it took me a while to get used to (especially since I’m originally from New England… so like…. the complete opposite).⁠
- Fire knife dancers make for pretty amazing entertainment at dinner. For both the guests and the wedding planner (I was snapping photos along with everyone else!) 🔥⁠

My number one preach when it comes to wedding planning... HAVE A RAIN PLAN! Here are some of my tips to creating a plan for a change in weather on your wedding day: ⁠
⁠
💦 Discuss the plan ahead of time. Months before your wedding day, talk through what you would ideally like to do if the weather is not looking good. Do it then because you will have the most clear head to create a plan!⁠
💦 The rain plan doesn't have to be "move it inside no matter what". You can delay the ceremony, move cocktail hour to when guests arrive, have umbrellas, rent a tent, etc.⁠
💦 When you are choosing a venue, make sure you like the plan B weather backup (and ask about during your tour!). You don't have to like it the most, but make sure you like it at least a little bit 😏⁠
💦 Don't obsess over the forecast the week before. Especially in Colorado, our weather changes hourly!⁠
💦 Trust your vendor team. We will do what it takes to have your wedding where you want it to be. And if we can't, we will walk you through every step of the process and changes as we go!⁠

Mandi and Mike. There are no words. Thank you for letting us be a part of your amazingly unique, intimate, thoughtful and beautiful wedding. They shared an intimate wedding at a Fort Collins coffee shop, where they first met, with 30 of their closest friends and family. Everything was so perfect and "them". Every small detail included so much thought and creativity. From hand made ring boxes, to "Thriller" playing during their first look, Queen playing during their biodegradable confetti exit, to custom designed waffle menus. . . . After the wedding, we spent the entire weekend in Boulder, CO walking around downtown, going to breweries, and hanging out on the porch talking about life. . . . People like Mandi + Mike are rare, who radiate with happiness, are so kind, and genuine and get you on a personal level.
