My idea to start a local catering business began while I was working in the industry as a cook two years ago! I was working at the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park when a friend of mine who I worked with in the kitchen brought to me an idea to start a Hunger Outreach Cart for the People Experiencing Homelessness in downtown Colorado Springs. Her idea was to give and cook for these people and eventually settle down in a brick and mortar location to better serve them! What a great idea I thought! What compassion and heart that this person had! It was literally so contagious that it got me rolling on the idea for Good Neighbor Catering!
The next couple weeks I went over the possibilities of starting a Business. I studied Culinary and Hospitality in College, and even concentrated my studies in Entrepreneurial studies. With a background that ignited my passion for small business, I started to find ways to start cooking more and more personal events and parties! Since then, I have continues to cook and build a reputation for myself for making delicious, high quality food for a great price! I love what I am doing and love being a part of these events, as I am someone who helps to generate the amazing memories that are by products of these events.
In addition, I plan on pursuing Hunger Outreach Programs once the business is more established in order to fulfill the idea that I was originally told about! In this way, we will be able to give back to our local community and help many others in need of food assistance!
I am excited for the direction that we are taking and we have many exciting things happening right now for the business! I hope to get the business officially started latest by the end of this year! Hopefully much sooner than that!
