The Rendon’s latest mural was completed by artist and #AATRAlumni @francesca_quintano at The Rendon, located at 2055 E 7th Street in the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District. In this video, Quintano shares thoughts on her design, inspiration and process behind the vibrant and complex mural.
Much of Quintano’s work combines photo surrealism and abstraction; pulling from her classical art education, her love of esoterica, and her work within the Los Angeles street art world. Quintano explores ideas of mortality and symbolism. Using nature, a vibrant palette, and representation of lush life, juxtaposed against darker and symbolically loaded imagery, she creates works that appeal to the eye while also pulling the viewer in to find hidden meanings and references within each piece.

March 2023: Art At The Rendon hosted two Ukranian filmakers, Roman Khimei and Yarema Malashchuk for 3 months at a private pop-up artist residency studio in the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District.
This residency was a part of Kyiv to LA, in collaboration with Marathon Screenings & 18th Street Arts Center. The project was a joint exhibition and residency project that supports Ukrainian arts at a time when Ukrainian sovereignty and culture are under attack.
Art At The Rendon hosted a film screening and potluck dinner with the artists on Thursday, March 30th, marking the end of the artists’ residency and celebrating with a gathering before they returned to Ukraine.
Recognized for their work within Eastern and Western European institutions and biennales, this project marked the first time these artists and historians presented their work to audiences in Los Angeles.
