Hi Happy Weekend-

Wanted to come on here and RE- reintroduce myself - as if most of you don’t know me by any stretch or by my moniker- MATT WITH THE HAT.

If I’ve been absent from sharing what I do or the business that I’m in - it’s for good reasons. I’ve always had a hard time with the idea of social media and how to use this platform in a way that reflects my feelings about what I do. The exhaustive over saturation and over sharing of the creative entities we want others to see in our businesses is only represented in what we produce in an image. Ideas that are deemed “picture worthy” but that are never truly seen in our approach to the work, our relationships we create with our clients and colleagues or even the long, hard time spent on our hands and knees to make people happy.

When I started going by the name “Matt with the Hat” it was for people to notice me at my job- but the 25 years I’ve been in the “events business “ I’ve realized that I’ve had to be a “ Matt with many hats” and have had to adapt and learn to do it all, just to survive and thrive in this competitive market here in LA with out PICTURES to show for all my work and accomplishments.

People find it odd and often fascinating the road at which I’ve gotten here since I don’t often gloat with photos on social media what I do. From owning my own catering company 20 years ago here in LA til now. Generally I’m running around, never stopping during an event, trying to put on so many different hats to make my clients, my colleagues and my vendors happy. Thus - if a photo gets taken of me ever - it’s generally of just that. Busy when no one’s looking.

So I’ll take the advice of several colleagues and friends and I’ll try to do my best to “share” my stories and creative identity in this business moving forward. I guess I just don’t want any of you to get too exhausted at more content that looks like every other page. If anything - Matt with the Hat will always continue to try and be real and unique in my approach. Just like what I bring to my events and life.
