Bake My Day is now Feather Moon Creative Studio!

It’s been way too long! In late 2019 I was forced to lay down my spatula for good from an unexpected hand injury. After surgery I decided to step back into the corporate world in which very quickly I realized my life needed to be creating and teaching not sitting behind a desk. So I decided to dabble into a few other mediums from painting, upcycling, chalk pastels, gardening, and leather. Then the pandemic stopped the entire world on a dime. So during that time I felt the only thing to do was to reflect and dive into what makes me happy. Gardening was always at the top of “when I have more time” list and a great form of healing and rediscovering. Before I knew it I had hundreds of plants that lead me to sell and trade for other goods. But I was still searching for the thing that would allow the flow of creativity to appear again. I decided I wanted to make something fun with my plants. I started teaching myself macramé. It was almost like a door opened with a tidal wave of ideas to create. Spring came there was no relief from the pandemic, summer was the same, and then I was sure fall would be here with markets and events wide open. But soon realized the time was still not here. The holidays rolled up and on December 7, 2020 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical Cancer. At that very moment my rediscovering, soul searching and healing took a turn - to surviving. I was so grateful to also hear the word “curable” if I accept the treatment. Shortly before Christmas I started 3 months of radiation and chemo. The universe placed the best doctors in my path to get me through this journey so after the shock of it all I switched gears into “Let’s Do This” because I had to trust the professionals. The end of March I made it to the only thing I could focus on was to be done with treatment and get back to life but little did I realize that the hardest part was ahead in healing from the treatment. The rest of the year self-care was the only thing I could dive into because until I healed my body there was no getting back to life. It became my full time job with PT, yoga, meditation, and counseling. Let’s not forget that this entire time I’ve been gardening and creating art. Nature and Art will always be some of the best healers. Meanwhile parallel life was starting to blossom again and so were markets and venues. Fall was finally here and I found myself working markets every weekend selling my art and plants. WAHOO!!Finally life was seemly back to normal and October delivered the news I was CANCER FREE! The news set me free in more ways than I imagined. Free to finally get back to what I have been working on for many years now. Feather Moon Creative Studio is here to serve you up some fresh classes, events, and birthday parties for all ages! The world needs art and to reconnect with life. Below are some pictures of my current collection, classes, and markets this past year.
