McKinney Student Film Festival The categories are divided by skill, with Novice being geared for K-8th grades and Advanced for students in 9-12th grades.

The McKinney Student Film Festival is an opportunity for students to develop their visual literacy and expand their educational experience in by fostering the creativity, artistic, communication and technical skills required for producing a movie. Students are free to make whatever genre of film they please, and have the option of two entry categories to choose from, Novice and Advanced. The best

films in each category will have the chance to be honored at an Awards Gala & Public Screening on April 27th, 2012 at the McKinney Performing Arts Center.
