So, this is it. Today is our last day in the Ghostlight Playhouse. We'll be making a big push to get all of our things out by the end of the day. The task is honestly overwhelming but we'll keep plugging. If anyone has some time to day we could definitely use some help with some specific things:
- Making a Goodwill run this afternoon
- Breaking down cardboard for recycling
- General wiping down counters and sweeping up, also later this afternoon.
- Maybe one more dump run this afternoon.
- Buy Raffle entries! Our raffles are still going on and, quite frankly, we could use the money to pay up some final bills the Ghostlight and start prepping for what's next for the Randall Theatre.

Anyone who comes to help out today will have first crack at whatever is left in the concession stand and cooler, We'll be in and out during the day so message us here or contact John Wing and/or Kathy Wing.

Big thank you to Paul Cosca and Liz Reeder from The Modern Prometheans who came and worked a lot of hours today helping us clear things out. Paul's work on the ladder was invaluable. Thank you.

Also major thanks to one of the longest serving volunteers at the Randall Theatre, Ed Miller. Thank you for your help loading the uhaul. When you're packing up memories, it's nice to have old friends nearby.

I know we originally said 10am for tomorrow, but we will not be starting til noon. We worked hard today to ensure that Kathy and John can handle things on our own moving forward, but if anyone would like to come and help, please do so. We still have lots of concession treats to show our appreciation with!

Thank you to everyone for your support and kind words.

John

Thank you again for the outpour of support. Whether it be through shares and likes, or the many personal messages we have received offering comfort. Your efforts are sincerely appreciated. If good vibes paid the bills, we wouldn't have any issues right now.

Update: we will be getting there at noon on Sunday to start working. If you have some time and would like to help, please come by.

Update: Storage is taken care of for now. Thank you all for your offers to help!

The concession stand is still mostly stocked, so whoever comes by to help is welcome to enjoy some complimentary goodies as our thanks to you!

October 2020 - January 2024

01/26/2024

Well, with only 4.5 hours on the clock, it doesn't look good.

Thank you all for your shares and support. I know there are many people out there who did and are still doing everything they can to keep this dream alive. Unfortunately, I think the next step will be cleaning things out and starting a new chapter.

Kathy and I are going to go down and make a list of everything we think we will be able to get out before Monday. We will only have about 48 hours to get everything out, so any help would be appreciated. If you are interested in helping out, please send me (John) a DM.

Thank you again, it's been a hell of a ride to say the least. I am focusing on the gratitude.

- John

Hey gang - trivia, karaoke, and comedy are going to be on hiatus for a little while longer.

As most of you know, the Ghostlight Playhouse is an extension of the non-profit Randall Theatre Company. We are working on securing some outside funding that will allow us to continue building our sustainable business model.

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience, and we cannot wait to get back to our regular schedule. We miss you guys.

In the meantime, we do have a few events on the horizon! Check out the newly updated www.ghostlightplayhouse.com for the latest calendar of events. We have a concert this weekend, a murder mystery, Angelucci Acting Presents: Songs of the Worker, and our own original adaptation of A Christmas Carol in December!

Also, if you're interested in helping us secure funding, please consider contributing to or sharing our "Clap if you Believe" fundraising campaign - https://theeveofmay.eventgroovefundraising.com/best-seat-tv/Campaign/Details

10/18/2023

Attention Trivia, Karaoke, and Comedy fans -

We are going to put all of those things on a brief hiatus. Don't worry, we will be back! We hope to get all of things back regularly by November, but stay tuned for announcements.

In the meantime, make sure to get your tickets for the WORLD PREMIERE of Cheerleaders Versus the Forces of Darkness" being put on by The Modern Prometheans! It runs through the end of October, and it is a blast. Seats are still available, but going fast.

And please share our fundraiser. It is our best chance of making it back, and then staying open. The best way to support and benefit from the mission of the Randall Theater Company and its Ghostlight Playhouse is to subscribe to Best Seat TV. It's getting real, guys.

It is with a heavy heart that I begin writing this message. While I am still open to eleventh-hour miracles, it looks like our magic has run out. I fear this is the end of the Randall Theatre Company.

Attention Business Owners!

Here are just a few of the reasons you should consider becoming a sponsor of the Randall Theatre Company and its Ghostlight Playhouse:

- All donations are 100% tax deductible as we are a 501(c)(3).

- Get in on the ground floor of a new way to fund the arts! A non-profit streaming platform for local performance art and independent film.

- We will thank you by displaying your name and logo in our window facing Main Street in Downtown Medford.

- We will also feature you on our screens inside the venue during every event held at the Ghostlight.

- Right now, any contribution you make will go toward our fundraising goal in our "Clap if you Believe" campaign. We even have a few perks available specifically for anyone interested in becoming a season sponsor.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of the Randall Theatre Company and its Ghostlight Playhouse, email John at [email protected] - or click here: https://theeveofmay.eventgroovefundraising.com/best-seat-tv

Let's make magic together in Downtown Medford!

“Clap if you believe”.

It’s a simple enough proposition.

Peter Pan asks the audience to clap if they believe in fairies, and guess what… They do! And that hopeful applause brings Tinkerbell back to life, Peter and the Lost Boys go on to defeat Captain Hook and his pirates, and the good guys go on to live happily ever after.

That’s kind of the idea behind this campaign.

It’s no secret that the live performance business took a hit during and after covid. Not only did it change the way people consume live entertainment, but it also made it much more expensive to even produce a show. Even the big guys in Ashland needed to raise $10 million just to make it to 2024. Currently we find ourselves in a similar bind, except minus a few decimal places.

We have a plan to climb out of the hole we are in, and make sure we never stumble into another one: Best Seat TV. Here’s how it works -

As a subscriber, you’ll pay $10 per month. In return, you’ll receive:

- Access to our livestream. If it’s happening on our stage and we can legally broadcast it, you’ll have access.
- Access to our archived performances. Same as above. If it streamed, in most cases it will be available in the archives.
- A 20% discount at the bar and concession stand. Good for anything we sell there.
- A 50% discount on tickets to any event held at the Ghostlight Playhouse.
- A monthly transparency report, detailing exactly where every dollar is going, and what good is being done with it. Kids camps, classes for all ages, our ‘Pay What You Want’ program… You’ll feel good about where your money is going.
- But wait… there’s more!

We have recently joined forces with the local filmmaking community as well. Ray Robison was the first to donate his catalog of independent films and shorts. Ron Huffstutter followed suit, donating films, shorts, music videos, and other content. Not only will this fill up the platform with more content, but it will also give us another opportunity to fund and support the arts in Southern Oregon.

If we reach the goal of our “Clap if you Believe” fundraiser, not only will we be back in the black, but we will be able to get started right away toward our goal of having live entertainment in Downtown Medford 7 nights a week, accessible both in person and over the internet.

If you’d simply like to subscribe to Best Seat TV, click here - https://ghostlightplayhouse.com/best-seat-club/

If you’d like to contribute to our fundraiser, click here - https://theeveofmay.eventgroovefundraising.com/best-seat-tv

We are offering many different perks for certain donation levels. For instance, we still have 80 spots available on a permanent plaque that will have the names of our first 100 subscribers. You know, the ones who *believed* enough to start *clapping* before everyone else did. Also, we have a team fundraising perk where if you raise enough as a team, you can earn a private karaoke party for up to 30 people!

Potential business sponsors, if any part of this project interests you, we also have season sponsorships available through the fundraiser. Not only will you get the usual perks of a sponsorship, but your contribution will go toward our fundraising goal. Also, yes. We are a 501(c)(3).

Thank you for reading, and above all…

Please clap.

Okay gang, good news and bad news.

The good news is we will be back! 😃

The bad news is it won't be until 11/2 ☹

In the meantime, save up those stories and jokes, and take the opportunity to see a BRAND NEW musical called Cheerleaders Versus the Forces of Darkness", written by Paul Cosca and produced by his theatre company, The Modern Prometheans. It is campy, hilarious, and just the right amount of spooky.
