The dahlias have hit their stride and are so, so beautiful in the field (check out my stories for pics!). It always makes me sad that the frost takes them right as they hit their peak. For now, I’m cutting lots of them to enjoy in the house.

On Sundays I clean out the cooler and make flower arrangements for the house. It’s a great way to spend the morning - especially since I don’t get to play with flowers as much these days. But that’s ok - I get to write about them, and meet and talk with some amazing people in the floral industry thanks to my job with the Society of American Florists. It’s been almost three months since I started this dream job, and the novelty still hasn’t worn off. It’s been a lot of work transitioning into the job and managing the farm, but thanks to my amazing team - and - we pulled it off! I have never been one to embrace fall and winter, but I’m not going to lie - I am very much looking forward to a slow down. Thanks to all of our amazing customers for your support this season. We love sharing our flowers with you!

Flowers are beautiful, but I need to give a shout out to this amazing foliage - hibiscus ‘Mahogany Splendor.’ It’s an annual that’s very easy to start from seed, and matures just in time for fall bouquets. It looks amazing with our peach dahlias!
