Natick Youth Symphony Orchestra is a nonprofit enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality orchestra training for young students, especially for those who play string instruments in the town of Natick. We rehearse at the heart of the down town Natick, at 43 Main Street Studios, Kids Connect Studio. Our Office is located at the same address, suite number 1. Natick Youth Orchestra/s provide
a great learning opportunity focused on orchestra training by professional musicians, most of whom have decades of experience in the performing stage. This/these orchestra/s will feature music from the classical period, as well as traditional and Broadway tunes, providing a large spectrum of musical styles and periods, making this also a fun experience. This organization will also provide a growing opportunity for its members to perform solo or in smaller groups, exhibiting their talents in different performing venues, such as nursing homes, churches and concert halls. This orchestra will be playing music that represents its members, from their country of origin, new music written for the orchestra etc. Our goal is to create a sustainable business model for this kind of musical training, supported by sponsors, advertisers, donors and members who will pay yearly or semester membership fees. This orchestra is created to fill a void on the Natick Public School system, that lacks completely string training. While string programs are the first ones to be cut from curriculum in down turn economic times, this organization will provide quality string training program for the community. Natick’s children who are interested in playing a stringed instrument in an orchestra setting, shouldn’t have to travel to nearby towns for such programs. All the towns around us have strong and thriving string and orchestra programs. This organization is a community asset that sustains educational opportunities for our children in our town, enhancing quality of life in Natick, and we need people who believe in it to support our work. As of January 2014, Natick Youth Orchestra had only 3 members and a too small of a budget to have a public performance. This semester, our membership has increased to 9 students, half of which are Natick residents and a quarter of them who already go to other Youth Orchestras in Boston. Their membership is a sign of support and faith in what this orchestra stands for.
