Wedding Season for the last year had been more of a “is it safe to Wed Season” 🤦🏾‍♀️ Many couples have been forced to postpone or cancel their weddings due to the impacts of COVID ... Since we are all friends here and this is a safe space, I just want to say it’s Bull 💩 and sucks. I know! Still, we have to deal with it and try our best not to stress the things that are outside of our control. Now more than ever, it is essential that you plan ahead and secure your vendors early! Being a wedding officiant has afforded me the opportunity to meet some extraordinary and gifted people. When my gorgeous bride .art released her launch date for her jewelry line, I couldn’t resist — and friendly stalked her page until launch day 😂.

Hey, Insta! I know it has been a while, but I wanted to take the time to speak on something very important to me on this MLK day.

We can easily get lost in the source, be self-serving at times, and judge others that may be different from us (we are all human, not perfection.) It also easy for us to project our pain and exhaustion onto others when we are burnout or stressed — especially with our not-so-normal “new norm.”

I would like to encourage you all — to not just be selfless... be a peacemaker. How can we actively work toward peace and justice? While we still embrace and accept each other’s differences. Ask, yourself; how can you service and help others? Not just today, but regularly. Remember even the smallest gesture has a great impact. Happy MLK Day!

Lisa + Kerrin have been together for over 10 years and were already married. However, they didn’t receive the wedding ceremony of their dreams.

Lisa wanted to make it up to Kerrin, so she planned a surprise vow renewal – Kerrin had no idea and I was all for it! It turned out to be a beautiful day. The weather was perfect, they exchanged vows, rings, and reaffirmed their commitment to each other. Zero guest, 100% meaningful!

I absolutely love the idea of vow renewal and I am so happy I could be a part of this amazing moment.

Today I had planned to go to the clerks office early this morning to beat the rush to file a marriage license, but it was cold and I decided to go in the afternoon.

When I arrived, I was asked to be a witness for a couple that wanted to get married today. I initially declined, but had a change of heart and decided to do them one better. I proceeded to call a close friend, to see if she was available able to sign off as a witness and offered to validate their marriage free of charge.

Moral of the story: No act of kindness, however small is ever wasted. Everything that God allows to come our way is with purpose and what is meant to be will always find a way. ☺️

Congratulations to A + K on your marriage. May today be the beginning of a long, happy life together!
