"After three vibrant years at the Tank, Guy Barash brings his Eavesdropping programs to Spectrum, an intimate and increasingly busy Lower East Side loft space. The series provides a glimpse at the creative process between living composers and their interpreters" – Time Out New York
Composer and curator Guy Barash continues to provide a “stage for risk-taking and the exploration of non-conventiona
l sound” and to present a “relevant boundary-breaking artistic work.” (The Tank NYC)
Founded in May 2010, his “bold concert series” (icareifyoulisten.com) Eavesdropping kicks off a seventh year of exciting programming. Now at Spectrum, a concert venue which “recalls New York’s experimental-music lofts of the 1970s and ’80s, but its spirit harks back further, to the Romantic salon and to private-house concerts” (New York Times), Barash hosts some of today’s most daring performers and cutting-edge composers. The intimate, “homey vibe” (New York Times) at Spectrum brings our audiences close enough to become part of the creative process. Eavesdropping is committed to presenting innovative repertoire that is relevant and intriguing. It is a cross-genres new music series presented to the city’s inquisitive listener - the one that seen it all and heard it all, but craves for cultural excitement. Concerts are usually held on the third Sunday of every month, and start at 7pm.
