Congratulations to Some Like It Hot Musical for winning Best Musical Theater Album at the 2024 Grammys, which was mixed in our very own control room at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music by Lawrence Manchester of Audiosmiths Digital Solutions!

And a special shout out to Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street—who recorded the orchestra in our Cary Hall—which was also nominated for the Best Musical Theater Album.

The festival is a bright spot on the August calendar, with casual yet tightly plotted concerts of modern and contemporary music.

This Sunday, May 21st at 5:30pm will have a concert at featuring a program of all world premieres by composers .wav and Paul Mortilla for percussion, piano, and electronics.

We're really excited to be hosting their ensemble for what is sure to be an exciting afternoon of new music, so please join us as we welcome Pathos Trio this Sunday!

We were happy to welcome the American Composers Orchestra () back in Cary Hall this week! Join them Thursday March 16th, 2023, 7:30 pm at for a curated evening of music featuring an adaptation from guitarist Kaki King’s () album "Modern Yesterdays", with new orchestral renderings by composer D.J. Sparr (), and adapted projection mapping co-created with Attilio Rigotti () and Orsolya Szantho ().

The performance led by Daniela Candillari () will also feature works by .bandera.music

On March 7th, the world premiere of Tod Machover's Overstory Overture will feature Joyce DiDonato and violinist Stephen Kim, led by conductor Earl Lee. On December 2, GRAMMY-nominated violinist and composer Curtis Stewart and the Experiential Orchestra, led by Music Director James Blachly, give the New York premiere of Julia Perry’s Violin Concerto from 1963, and perform music by Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson and from Stewart’s album “Of Power.” For this immersive concert, audience members are invited to sit inside the orchestra. Co-Presented by ChamberMusicNY.

Perry’s Violin Concerto was composed in 1963 and revised in 1968, but she continued to update the score until 1977, only two years before her death. This performance marks not only the New York premiere of the work, but the world premiere of the newly updated edition, incorporating Perry’s extensive revisions to its orchestration.
