I got a phone call tonight that has shaken me. A woman called me after I handed her my RF card yesterday at a parade. I walked the parade route to pass out cards to promote our event. Little did I know…

Her daughter’s friend committed su***de yesterday (around the time the parade was happening.) Every 2 1/2 days in SC a young person commits su***de. Sadly my county was that statistic yesterday.

RitzFest is not only trying to raise money for the Jason Foundation but also to raise awareness locally of this silent epidemic. Spread the word.

It’s a great day for RitzFest! I received a lot of positive comments as I passed out RitzFest cards along the Prosperity Christmas Parade this afternoon.

I also received an email from the student-director of “Standing Up.” It’s a short film about teen su***de awareness that was entered a few years back in the Doko Film Fest and will be shown during the pensive act of Ritz Fest Eve!

It’s a great day for RitzFest! My day job had me working with an amazing group of teachers which was great. Then one bought a RitzFest tee at lunch!!thats 10 more bucks we can donate to the Jason Foundation ! I’ll be sending the check to them this weekend for the recent tee sales. 1/2 of every sale goes to our tee fund and half goes directly to JFI towards our $5k goal.

A guy did not want a tee but gave me $10 to send to JFI. A couple were walking out of Oktoberfest with their kids, stopped at the table, and gave me their last $2 cash to donate! So we are able to donate $112 to JFI today to work towards our $5k goal.
