Do you recognize this individual/vehicle? We are looking to identify him to explain our cardboard policy and rules. In order to keep our cardboard pile viable it cannot be contaminated with trash, plastic, styrofoam etc. We allow free cardboard drop off and would like to keep that service available for our community members. All Hawarden routes will be run regularly on Monday.

All residential routes in Wynstone, Dakota Dunes, Sioux City, Orange City and Alton will be run on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd.

DAKOTA DUNES: The part of the map highlighted green will be picked up on Wednesday (July 3rd), and the part highlighted blue will be picked up on Friday (July 5th)! Please see the map below to see what I'm talking about.
MAURICE will be picked up on Wednesday, July 3rd.
ORANGE CITY will be picked up on Friday, July 5th.
SIOUX CITY THURSDAY route will be picked up on Friday, July 5th.

If you were not mentioned here then you will be picked up normally.

Due to the vast flooding in the area, anyone who needs to throw something away that does not fit in your toter is welcome to come to our office during regular business hours all week and dump it in our roll off. Just stop in the office and we will let you know how much you owe for what you have!

Also, for the customers who have roll offs or dumpsters that aren’t using them during the week this week, we ask that you please let us know ASAP so we can have some available for those who need them!

For anyone in an area with major flooding please contact your city office for information on emergency waste options they have available.

For anyone who is looking to get a roll off or dumpster delivered we recommend giving us a call, at a minimum, 3 - 4 days before you want one. We will definitely try to get you one as soon as possible but do not expect one the next day!

MEMORIAL DAY INFORMATION:

ALTON: All trash pickup will be run normally all week.
DAKOTA DUNES: Monday recycling and Monday and Tuesday trash will all be picked up Tuesday morning. Have your containers out the night before, there will be no returns!

Due to continuous dumping of trash and other items (like concrete bags) in the cardboard shed, unfortunately, we will not be allowing any after hours dumping. All customers who wish to dump in the cardboard shed need to stop at the office before dumping. The only exception is if you have gotten specific permission from our office recently in the month of May. All of those who do not get permission from the office prior to dumping, whether it be during or after hours will be charged.

Does Your Tote Runneth Over?

Do NOT overfill. If a larger can is needed, you can upgrade by calling OC Sanitation at (712)737-2645.

• Do NOT set the green tote in the street. Set it behind the curb but within 18”. Driveways work great.

• Tote should not be put out more than 12 hours before normal pick-up time.

• Tote needs to be out by 7:00 am the day of normal pick up.

• Lid openings need to be placed towards the street, or they will not be emptied.

• If high wind warnings are issued for your pick-up day and the can is nearly empty, please hold off on setting it out until next week.
