This morning was soooo stressful trying to find paperwork & legal things for our car & our house… with moments to spare my driver’s license arrived in the mail saving the day!
And then we picked up this beauty! She doesn’t have a name yet, but I’ll introduce her properly soon!
God is good & we have seen His hand in our lives every step of this journey!

Secondly from one of my favorite local cheese company’s I am highlighting the winner of 6 major awards “Big John Cajun” This cheese is perfect for the spice lover, for those who can’t take the heat stick to the inside of the cheese.
And last but by no means least, I am thrilled to include a small jar of orange creamed honey from the perfect sweet touch to elevate your bite. Honey is one of nature’s most delicious, once you taste this sweet honey, you’ll want more!

41 years ago today we had our first date - our accidental first date, everyone loves a love story, but honestly ours is my favorite!
So just for fun, take a trip down memory lane with me!
It’s my baby girl’s birthday! We got to FaceTime last night and boy do I miss her hugs! Whitney has always been our “sunshine girl” from the very beginning she’s had the best smile, a really quick wit, & an ability to help all those around her laugh. She’s kind & has a gift to see people for who they are regardless of outside appearances.
Everyone should be so blessed to have a Whitney in their life!
These two boys/men! Today they received the Melchizedek priesthood. And in 2 short months they’ll be heading to New Zealand to serve their missions. I can’t believe how fast the years have gone, they had just started kindergarten when we arrived here in Utah.
Honored to call them my grandsons!
Happy birthday son! The firstborn & only boy in the family. Nathan, you have always been a great son & brother & now you’re an amazing husband & father. Hardworking, funny, kind and a great leader, we love you & look forward to celebrating with you tomorrow! 💙💙💙

Secondly, I am delighted to be sharing one of my favorite cheeses: White Stilton with Apricots. The fresh, slightly acidic flavor of crumbly white Stilton makes it an ideal partner with fruits & my favorite is the succulent nuggets of dried apricots! The perfect Spring cheese!
And last but by no means least, I am thrilled to include in each box a chunk of fresh honeycomb! What says welcome Spring more than honeycomb? Honey in it’s natural state is one of nature’s most delicious miracles.

My amazing daughter was born 37 years ago today after a long night …. but the years have flown by!
This month she also married the greatest guy & now has the family she has always longed for! Next month her darling boy celebrates his first birthday! To say I love her more than ever & I’m so proud to be her mother is an understatement!

So it only feels right to start 2023 with a shoutout to them. .wheat Matt makes the most delicious breads, in so many incredible flavors, I couldn’t image my tables without his delicious bread! hands down makes the best cheesecakes - cheesecake is my favorite dessert so that’s really saying something! are amazing - truly, I think I know my favorite flavor then every time I try I new one I’m conflicted again! and - I had a dream to put full frames of honeycomb on my big tables, but couldn’t find someone to help me until I found Stan & Alicia and they have been making my fresh honeycomb dreams come true ever since!

I wanted to make my first post of the new year an introduction to my new followers and g’day to my old.
Hi, I'm Karen Ormsby, a Melbourne, Australia native now living in Utah. Australia is a melting pot of cultures and I was lucky enough to have been raised experiencing different cuisines from all over the world. That educated palate is what gives me the ability to make sure every graze/charcuterie order works together.
Oakford Gourmet Selections was born 5 years ago, but really I’ve been doing this for decades.
When I was thinking what to call my business, I knew I wanted my tables to look distinctly like mine - (meaning you’d know it was mine as soon as you saw it). So I decided wood would feature prominently, I wanted a name of a strong tree…OAK was perfect because our last name is Ormsby, my hubby is Alvan (who is a Kiwi) and I’m Karen. Gourmet means a connoisseur of good food; a person with a discerning palate. And Selections is what I do… selection the best foods that combine to create beautiful & delicious creations for you to enjoy!
When I’m not shopping, ordering, prepping for creating for Oakford, I love to spend time with family & friends. Alvan & I are empty nesters now, which as also enabled us to travel more than ever before. We’ve loved discovering different parts of the United States & of course we go home to visit family as often as possible, and in the fall of 2023 we are planning our dream trip to Europe!!
Our greatest joy is our family, 7 children and 13 grandchildren, in Utah, Australia and New Zealand. Our happy place is the beach, and our favorite activity is anything together!

And finally, although not local, I wanted to highlight one of my favorite cheeses of the festive season, Cinnamon dusted Toscano. It’s creamy & smooth like cheddar and nutty and sharp like a delicious aged Parmesan. The dusting of cinnamon adds an incredible flavor contrast.
This time there is only one size (getting supplies has been a challenge for the last 6 months). Our Willow box for 3-5 people is normally $80, but the promo price is $50, if you buy more than one you can secure them at an even more special price of $45 each.
