Live at the Five Spot: Nathan Taylor & Friends

Live at the Five Spot is the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria bi-monthly Friday night music event featuring the best regional talent performing a variety of great music.

Join Nathan Taylor and Friends for an evening of feel good music. Enjoy classic roots songs, vintage blues of the delta, jazz of early New Orleans and some great originals that fit right in with the old styles. You'll want to dance to the tasty tunes these young guys put together with Adam Kimbrell on stand-up bass, Tom Stoner on trumpet, Larry Harms on clarinet and Jason Brannon on drums as Nathan Taylor leads the group singing while playing the guitar and harmonica. Their music will transport you back to simpler time in New Orleans that you won't want to miss.

Blind Stein is a showered gypsy who hails from the blue-collar bubble of West Peoria. This professional vagabond has been wondering the US for over a decade laughing, learning, and living up life. Blind Stein both fulfills and shatters stereotypes with his witty word play and life experiences.

Josh Freeman is a silver medal winning comedian from Springfield, Illinois. He draws his material from the absurdities of the world and his poor decision making skills. He has shared the stage with such acts as Larry Reeb, April Macie, and Ryan Singer.

Jeff Govednik’s comedy is a hypothetical conundrum that is difficult to explain. He is whimsically twisted combining thoughts that you should not have with unique musical sensibilities. His songs such as ”I’m Gonna Love You Til They Tazer Me” or “I’m 50” are demented, yet stuck in your head like a lawn dart.
