Indigenous Film Festival

Indigenous Film Festival Celebrate, elevate, and empower Indigenous stories while reclaiming the narrative of Native peoples, communities, and cultures.

The Indigenous Film Festival's mission is to celebrate and provide a platform for Native and Indigenous films, filmmakers, and content creators—while fostering a deeper connection to heritage, self-determination and strong cultural identity in our community. The Film Festival provides an opportunity to experience Native and Indigenous films from local and global Indigenous nations. It is our visio

n to inspire the next generation of young Lakota and Indigenous filmmakers within our communities. The Indigenous Film Festival is a free one-day event, Saturday, August 5th, 2017

The Indigenous Film Festival is organized by local Oglala Lakota tribal members and filmmakers. In addition to fortifying cultural identity through film, celebrating the talent and skill of local and global Indigenous artists, and bringing a unique cultural experience to the community, it is our hope that the Film Festival will become an annual part of the Oglala Lakota Nation Powwow, Rodeo and Fair experience.
