Introducing Blue Collar Vineyard, a local winery located just north of Paulden.You may also know them as Black Mesa Cellars. The husband and wife duo have been cultivating vineyards since 2015 in Oregon, and in 2019 made the move to Arizona. "Our white grapes include the Italian varietals Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Soreli. We also have two German whites..Phoenix and Scheurebe and a small planting of the French vine, Viognier. We also make a very nice white wine from an unknown grape that I call Garden Party as it was growing in our garden when we bought the property. It was my first experience making wine and we liked it so well that we propagated more of this vine with cuttings from our winter pruning. Our red grapes feature the Italian Teroldego, our flagship red wine. We also have Carmenére, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and new plantings of two recently developed grapes, Paseante Noir which was developed by UC Davis and Petite Pearl, developed by Tom Plocher from Minnesota. This year we have taken management of another nearby vineyard that is growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir." - Joann Brown shares with us. The wines you can expect to see at this year's Brewfest will be their 2021 Syrah, our 2022 Tierra Lindo red blend, the 2023 My Way Rosé and 2023 Scheurebe.
