Chef Oumar has worked in the restaurant and catering business for over 10 years. He only uses the best local ingredients to create fusions between traditional culinary and global cooking. He creates quality cuisine at affordable prices through his Oakland-based restaurant The Damel. Chef Oumar will share more about his background while simultaneously preparing the Brazilian traditional dish Acarajé and highlighting its fascinating history.

Also will be serving Acaraje at the Cowell Coffee Shop from March 1st to March 3rd for FREE, so don’t forget to stop by!
