The second annual Urban Renaissance Festival promises to be an exciting opportunity to showcase Sacramento’s rich diverse cultural heritage through music, fine arts, spoken word, crafts and dance. We are kicking off this season's festival season with our Renaissance on the River concert on Saturday May 27th 2017 at Garcia Bend Park on the Sacramento River. At our last event we were able to provide
300 kids from under-served neighborhoods with fully furnished backpacks. This year we want to send families on a trip to the Smithsonian in Washington. Additionally, we are providing under-funded community-based organizations with an opportunity to have low costs booths so they may enrich their programs. This festival is much more than a day of fun. It is an opportunity to help children of under served communities from all over Sacramento. If you have a craft or product that would like sell at the festival, now is the time to take advantage of our early bird specials for vendors. We have vending spaces available now but they will not last. Community-based organizations wishing to raise funds at the festival must contact the vending coordinator immediately as the donated and low cost spaces for these organizations will go fast. You may contact the vending coordinator at (916) 904-6535 to reserve your spaces immediately. Finally, we are seeking local talent to showcase as entertainment. We are looking for acts in the following genres; Spoken Word, R & B, Jazz, Reggae, Teen Acts, Dance. We want to give a special thanks to our friends at The Neighborhood Walmart Market and Sam's Club and Bimbo Bakery for supporting our efforts to serve children.
