I’m often asked to create veggie dishes that are easy and tasty. My asparagus with sun-dried tomatoes and crisped minced garlic does the trick. Squeeze a bit of lemon juice on top and it’s marvelous. I love carrots. Family tradition of slicing to shredding by hand makes all the difference in the world. Store bought ones are ok as well. Sautée them in olive oil, saffron and salt and pepper. Add a bit of lemon juice to finish them off. Cheers🍷🍷

Persian New Year, Norooz is upon us. In celebration of the New Day. The first Day of Spring. New beginnings. Celebrated by millions around the world. Such colorful and bright traditions. Gorgeous Haft-Seen table set up in every home with 7 symbolic items starting with the letter S.
1) Sabzi: Wheat or barley sprouts grown in dishes symbolizes “Rebirth.”
2) Samanu: Sweet pudding symbolizes “wealth, prosperity, fortune.”
3) Serkeh: Vinegar symbolizes “age and patience.”
4) Seeb: Apples symbolize “Health and beauty.”
5) Somac: Sumac symbolizes “The color of sunrise as in a New Day.”
6) Seer: Garlic symbolizes “Medicinal factors.”
7) Senjed: Olives or dried fruits symbolize “Love.”

There are other items that you would find on the table such as goldfish, mirror, candles, tons of sweets and a book of poetry or prayer.

A dish as simple as caramalized colorful shredded (by hand) carrots with saffron, lemon juice and salt and pepper could be a game changer. Enjoy. 🍷💕

Lubia Polo is steaming away on the stove with its glorious aroma and brilliant color and texture. Layers of basmati rice topped with advieh: Persian spice mix. Sprinkle of Cinnamon. Mixture of ground beef and green beans cooked in saffron, tomato paste, lemon juice and seasoned with salt and pepper and turmeric is a complete one pot meal. Cheers. 🍷🍷

Stuffed pepper and eggplants. Sautéed onions & garlic add ground beef, Turmeric, saffron, cinnamon salt & pepper and Italian crushed tomatoes. Yellow split peas & rice. I can honestly say that my pepper is smiling back at me. 😄🍷🍷💕
