Expression Live started five years ago as a monthly poetry event at Mayorga Coffee Factory called Expression: Poetry, Art Life. The monthly Expression events provided a venue for the community to celebrate and share their gifts of the arts including poetry, painting, and music. In 2008, due to the success of the monthly Expression poetry events, the annual EXPRESSION LIVE event was launched. In 20

10, there were over 2,000 in attendance at Expression Live, and the event continues to grow. This year will be even more exciting, with artists from different genres and backgrounds, including R&B, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Jazz, Inspirational, and Acoustic music, poetry from some of the area’s best spoken word artists, and dance. Expression Live! also includes live painting from some of the area’s finest artists, activities for children, street performances, free snacks, and free give-a-ways. is truly a family event!
