Queena was brutally r***d, beaten and left to die outside of a library in a suburb of Tampa, Florida in 2008. Equipped with an incredible will to survive, Queena did not die that night and has spent the last 14 years of her life working hard to recover from the brutal attack. Queena cannot walk independently, talk, see, or eat on her own, but she continues to work hard in therapy and make improvements. Queena requires around-the-clock care and attends regular physical, occupational and experimental therapies to aid her recovery, as she slowly makes strides toward regaining her own normalcy every day. Medicare only covers physical therapy, while nearly $50,000 is required annually for all of the treatments that have helped Queena make such progress. These additional expenses are funded through the generosity of the community and donations from supporters like you.
