Cash decided to call his first real special āTHE LONG ROADā because that is what his journey through comedy has been. 13 years of twists and turns. Cash got his start right here in Wilmington at what was then Nutt Street Comedy. He tried one open mic and then didnāt miss a single one for the next two years. He began touring regionally 18 months after he started. He won Port Cityās Top Comic, then Comedy Zoneās Almost Famous. Shortly after he won the regionals for Comedy Centralās UpNext and Also performed as part of Standup
NBC.
Things were moving so fast. Each time one of these things would happen heād think āthis is the thing thatās going to be the tipping pointā. And those years oscillated between hope and disappointment. Instead heās made his own path choosing to live on the road almost non stop for years instead of moving to the comedy cities everyone told him he had to live in. Driving 50-60,000 miles per year for most of a decade, performing in every major market, earning a reputation for being āmore than just funnyā and seeing 45 of the nations 62 national parks while living out of vehicles and tents more often than not.
Now, you can see Cliffās theatrical debut. Filmed at Wilmingtonās historic Thalian Hall in front of a sold out crowd of 550, The Long Road is beautifully shot by award winning Lighthouse Films.
