For those of you who know me- you also know how precious Lahaina Maui has been to my life-
My “Happy Place”…. Which is basically just ashes now-

It’s impossible for me to process this now- and to say it’s truly a “devastating apocalyptic situation “ can only shed light on part of the physical appearances we see-

The many many lives lost - are beyond anything anyone could ever imagine-
We watch the number climb daily and it’s only 3% accounted for at 100 now-
Complete & utterly impossible to comprehend-

Lahaina residents are strong loving family oriented people - I made “ family” with so many dear friends for life there-
Those of us who have moved to neighbor islands or the mainland STILL maintain deep
Connections with our island family -
We listen to the music and have our aloha connections when news events of the island touch us-

This past week I have had so many calls, texts, emails , photos etc from beloved Lahaina Maui buddies -
Some who grew up in Lahaina- have seen the physical memories of their childhood wiped off the face of the earth-
Josie & Kelly …. From swinging on that mighty Banyan Tree branches ( next door to your school that’s now gone) and playing on the grounds of the Jodo Mission-

All the places I lived in and worked at- including the Lahaina Harbor - are gone

Lynette up in Kahana was able to save her beloved horse “ Dorito” but Ben’s boat didn’t make it in the harbor -

My sweet long life buddy Jay - who we all feared the worst for- was found alive and ok late yesterday ( Midwest time ). THANK GOD-

We will be donating to several organizations-
And doing what we can long distance to help spread the aloha to the displaced families and THE ANIMALS displaced -
The Maui Humane Society NEEDS HELP for the huge surge in homeless and injured animals

It’s not just Lahaina - there were devastating fires up in Kula as well -

I typically don’t do a lot of posting online -
But this is one way I feel maybe my message may eventually lead to help for those who truly have lost it all -

And HUGEEEEEE shout out to my one & only HUBBY OF 30 years!! Our 30th Anniversary is TODAY !!!
He’s dealing with quite an emotional wreck -
But he’s here with me and helping me get ducks in a row to help our ohana friends of Lahaina -

Marissa & Jeremy finally got their day!! Sunday morning June 6 2021 One year delay due to the 2020 pandemic situation- these two brushed that disappointment off and carried through with their lives, classes - graduation- and are now ready to really step into their new lives in Texas! CANT WAIT to post more pics!!! ❤️
