Early September will be musically awesome!! I love Judy Small ( Judy Small Sings), and Ami Williamson individually as singers and songwriters, but now they have teamed up as a duo for a number of concerts in early September. I will be at four of them. A Ballarat house concert on Thursday 4th, Arcobar Heatherton on the 5th, Andrew n Heather's Burke & Wills Winery on Saturday 6th, and Mungo Park in Newlyn on Sunday 7th. If you don't know them LOOK THEM UP! More importantly BE THERE.

Just a quick email to remind you about our Bush Gothic gig coming up Friday week at the Albert Park Port Lounge!

Bush Gothic wander through the dankest, weirdest corners of the trad song books and emerge as post modern slash anti establishment slash folk feminists. Are they outsiders, lurking on the cultural fringe?
Or have they penetrated to the inner core of Australian identity? They won the Australian Folk Music 2022 Award for Best Band, are multiple Best Music Award winners at The Adelaide Fringe and received FIVE STARS from the BBC Music Magazine.

We have been advised by the Albert Park Yacht Club (our hosts) that we must have at least 35 punters booked to be allowed to use the venue. ALL ticket proceeds go to the artist after essential expenses, we do not keep a profit, so you are definitely supporting live music.

The Oakleigh Bowls Club is another great venue which gives ALL ticket proceeds to the musicians. And what's more hosts amazing acts. Live music!! Much better than dead music! At the Albert Park Port Lounge we support local (and occasionally touring international) musicians! On Friday week we present Bill Jackson and Frank Jones. Two dyed in the wool Melbourne Aussie Icons!!

With eight albums and four tours of North America, Bill Jackson is well established on the Australian live music scene.

And Frank Jones of course, from the Whirling Furphies (“When I die please put me in a barra, bury me by the banks of the Yarra, dig a hole both deep and narra, bury me in my brown Yarra!

A classic Australian song. Paul Kelly has publicly praised Frank and his music!
