Prize must be used by 31st March 2024. The prize includes a private chef to cook for four people at their house, choosing from a set menu. Booking location must be within 30km of Jesmond N.S.W. (Includes Maitland, Morisset, Caves beach, Raymond Terrace and all other suburbs within 30km surrounds) (Long Version) This competition will run from 8pm AEST, 28th September 2023 to 10am AEST, on 31st December 2023. Prize must be used by 31st March 2024 on a date available with Grinners Monday to Friday. The prize includes a private chef to cook for four people at their house, choosing from a set menu. Open to legal residents of Australia who are 18 or older and live within 30km of Jesmond, N.S.W. (Includes Maitland, Morisset, Caves beach, Raymond Terrace and all other suburbs within 30km surrounds). The winner must follow Grinners on Facebook and Instagram and commented with the 3 guests they would invite. The winner will be notified via Facebook message and winner may be published on Grinners page and Website. The winner has 48 hours to claim their prize or it will be forfeited and given to a runner up. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. We will accept only one entry per person. Prize cannot be transferred, redeemed for cash or substituted by winner. Grinners Catering and Events Newcastle is the sponsor of the competition. Oh the view.... Did you know we come to you, whever your event, we'll bring the food🌿 What's one of your favourite local places?

Our staff had a ball catering at the Water Catchers Gala Night at Tower Cinema. It was a real Red Carpet event with the Paparazzi snapping pictures on entry! We had the pleasure of providing yummy food for young film enthusiasts, teachers and parents. The event was really well planned and organized and a great night was had by all!

Our Story

For over 20 years the Thoroughood Family nurtured their catering business until it became one of the Hunter’s longest running, favourite caterers. In that time Grinners catered for thousands of family and corporate functions.

In 2019 Carolyn Thoroughood retired and passed on her wealth of knowledge and experience to its new owner, Bernard Robinson. Bernard is proud to be driving this successful business into the future with fresh ideas and old favourites.

Bernard’s favourite food memory is eating his Grandmother’s melt-in-the-mouth apple pie. It’s a taste he’s been trying to replicate for most of his life!

With an interest in nutrition, and a love for food that nurtures your body and soul, Bernard ensures that the abundance of food provided for you, whether as a set menu or tailored feast, is prepared with the freshest ingredients and matches your needs.
