It’s true! We’re closing down our pop-up shop in Ottawa at the end of May. If you missed us last weekend at the Ottawa orchid show, swing by to check out what we’ve got in stock. We’ve got a load of cattleya all in bud and blooming.

We’ll be sharing what comes next when we figure it out!

Four flasks for sale. These are baby orchids growing in bottles. They are nearly ready to be delivered-flasked and planted in small pots. Each flask contains at least 44 baby orchids. DM if interested.

Ultimately we don’t want our customers to be disappointed so we’re pausing online orders until can fix the back end of the system. And in the meantime, we’ll be posting stories to show you what’s in stock. You can always DM us if you want to purchase something and we’ll send a payment link (and you can pick up in store). We’re always happy to see our awesome customers come through the door so don’t stop visiting us inside at 1160B Heron Rd.

We love to bits, but that tail is destructive. I should have known better than to put my grammatophyllum in the hallway. One mention of a walk earlier today and bam 💥 adios new growth. Precision cut. Oh well. Happily these orchids are vigorous growers so hoping for a new sprout soon. And yes, this plant is getting a new spot in the house, away from the dog tail danger zone!

Last day to visit us this year! And wow, it’s been a year! Thanks to every single person who came out and supported us. We hit orchid shows, markets, markets and more markets and more shows before putting down some slightly more permanent roots with our lovely hostesses - gracias a todos! 🙏

We’ve added to our collection of supplies for mounting orchids. We snagged some amazing pieces of maple burl and have a handful available at our pop-up inside at 1160B Heron Rd. These pieces are all unique, fairly large and study to hold even the largest of dendrobiums (that always love to topple over).

And, if you want to do a workshop to mount and orchid, reach out. We can do these with you at the shop, or buy the supplies and make one at your home! It’s a fun project and a unique way to grow and display orchids. Workshop experience is a great gift for your orchid loving people!

We’ve hit “pause” until the spring for our shipping services. Weather temperatures are just too unpredictable across Canada! We’ll be sure to let everyone know when shipping starts up again.

This is likely the last week for orders going out for shipping! The temperatures are dropping and we’ll soon be turning off the “shipping” option on our website. If you’ve had your eye on something, please place your order before Sunday October 15 at noon!

We’re coming to the October 14-15 at the in Ottawa! This is our first plant expo and we are so excited to be part of this big event. You can find us the plant & reptile zone. We’ll have loads of blooming orchids, orchid potting supplies and some of our awesome wood baskets. This is a great event to snag a smaller orchid to add to a terrarium and Ottawa’s own is hosting a terrarium workshop at this event!

And don’t worry - our shop at 1160B Heron Rd inside will still be open!

The sun is not out and it’s too chilly to haul the orchids out of the greenhouse. We will absolutely do this pop-up on Sunday August 20 from 10am-4pm. We apologize for all the plans and canceled plans this week - weather forecasting not on our side. We’ll make up for it tomorrow with super deals!

This is and we’ve had the privilege of visiting this amazing place. As many of you know, we started our business working with Hawaiian orchid growers. That relationship continues to this day.

We’re donating our profits from our pop-up sales this weekend to Hawaii's Salvation Army to support the people there who need it. It’s a small gesture and the people of Hawaii are in our thoughts.

Labels - people love them and hate them. The text sometimes fades, they break, I despise the plastic but it’s a necessary evil in many ways. Knowing which plant is which is critical for most people, especially when you’ve got a new orchid on your hands.

We’re trying out a simple tag that lists some very basic care instructions. But don’t forget to always check the for the most in depth resources on orchids and their care needs.

Curious to know if you think this style of label is helpful and useful? We’ve got another slip in tag that I’ll try out soon, too!
